Unity in the body of Christ.
This photo was taken during a recent youth planning meeting in preparation for the upcoming Youth Conference in December. The meeting brought together youth leaders and members from the various churches to discuss important preparations. The main agenda was to develop and review the budget, identify the resources needed, and discuss practical ways of mobilizing funds to meet the conference expenses. The youths shared ideas and agreed to work together through contributions, fundraising, and other available opportunities.

Did you know that a little less than $500 USD will provide a church in Uganda with the necessary supplies to create their own bricks, and build the walls of their church, purchase the joists and iron sheeting to put a roof over the worship space or put down a concrete floor (dust is a huge problem)? Seems like a small price to pay for relief from the hot sun or soaking, seasonal rains. Would you consider investing in the comfort of our brothers and sisters in Gulu who battle the elements while they worship in Spirit and Truth

Because electricity can be so unreliable in Gulu, solar panels have been installed at the District Center and Wesley Guest House. Now visitors can be guaranteed lights, hot showers and wifi. By God's grace, GMPI is continuing the work to create an infrastructure for success in ministry for our brothers and sisters in Gulu. GMPI students just finished a three week intensive at Mukuno Theological Bible college. Lessons are held under mango trees and tents to take advantage of the cool breeze. And now the students have returned to their homes and churches with assignments to complete until the next intensive. We thank God for the willing hearts of these pastors in training, who make the sacrifice of their time and the difficult travel to learn more about being a disciple of Jesus and leadings others to the same end.

When our students are finishing up the school year, the GMPI sponsored students are just getting started! They missed the first session of classes because of the national elections but classes have begun. Check out this bunch of beautiful people who are studying at Mukuno Bible College. During their three week intensive, they are learning how to preach and teach and do ministry the Wesley way with a focus on discipleship. Pray for their success as students and ministers of the transforming love of Jesus!

Because of the relationship between GMPI and the Methodist Churches in Gulu, a local musician from Kentucky donated funds to help one of the churches to replace a broken keyboard. Thank God for the unique ways we can support our brothers and sisters as they worship the Lord!

GMPI invests in the education of its leaders by sending them to Mukuno Bible College. Classes in English teach on the bible, preaching, church administration and all things John Wesley. That investment is beginning to see big dividends as trained leaders are facilitating trainings for local leaders who don't speak English but are now getting some of the same quality of education. Pictured is Pastor Peter, who has completed all his coursework, and has been endorsed by Mukuno as an effective teacher. He says: "I would like to appreciate GMPI for supporting me in school. I am now seeing the product because I am now training the leaders in Gulu. Keep praying for me so that God can do his work through me. Keep praying for me because Gulu now becoming to big. Peace and blessing!"
Please take a moment and pray for Pastor Peter and his desire to be an effective communicator to the people of the Gulu District's Methodist churches.
