Most of us carry around a mental “worry list.”
• My future.
• My finances.
• My health.
• My family.
• My relationships.
• What people think about me.
• The unknown.
Paul gives us a simple but life-changing command:
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.” Philippians 4:6
What if every item on your worry list became an item on your prayer list?
What if instead of rehearsing our fears, we brought them to God?
What if the energy we spend worrying became time spent praying?
Paul wrote those words from prison. Not from comfort. Not from ideal circumstances. From a prison cell.
Yet he still taught that joy is possible because joy is not found in perfect circumstances; it is found in Jesus.
Today, take a sheet of paper. Write down everything you’re worried about. Then cross out the word “Worry” and write “Prayer.”
Your worry list just became your prayer list.
And joy follows that.
