When we are baptized, we promise to love and serve those around us, just as the Savior did. Because we are human, we all fall short at times and make mistakes. But our Heavenly Father, in His infinite love and mercy, provided a way for us to be continually cleansed and renewed, through the sacrament.

Each week, as we partake of the bread and water, we are not just remembering Christ’s sacrifice we are recommitting ourselves to follow Him and His example. We are commiting to love and show kindness to those around us.

How can I feel God's love?

God gave His Only Begotten Son so that we can return to Him again. He wants us to be with Him because He loves us! One way we can feel that love is to learn about and grow our relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the Prince of Peace and the perfect Friend.

"You may not have heard the Lord call you by name, but He knows each one of you and He knows your name. Elder Neal A. Maxwell said: 'I testify to you that God has known you individually … for a long, long time (see D&C 93:23). He has loved you for a long, long time. He not only knows the names of all the stars (see Ps. 147:4; Isa. 40:26); He knows your names and all your heartaches and your joys!'" (Elaine S. Dalton)

He is the Father of your spirit and knows you perfectly and individually. He sees the potential you have and the struggles you face. You are not in this alone! Your Heavenly Father cares about you deeper and more perfectly than you can imagine. Turn to Him and let Him show you His love!

"....my joy is carried away, even unto boasting in my God; for he has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things, and he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name." (Alma 26:35)

God is the Father of our spirits--He knows and loves us each individually and perfectly. As you study from the scriptures and pray, you can build a relationship with and come to know Him. He wants a relationship with YOU!! He is truly so aware of you as His child and wants to help you as much as you'll let Him!
