God calls, the Church prepares.

Roughly 60,000 Christians gathered in the Netherlands for the four-day Opwekking Pentecost Conference, a major worship and prayer event held in one of the world’s most secular countries.

The Netherlands is known for its high level of religious non-affiliation, but the conference has become a striking sign of renewed spiritual hunger, especially among young people. In 2025, about half of the attendees were under age 30.

European evangelist Jean-Luc Trachsel described the gathering as “a powerful and historic moment,” saying, “The Holy Spirit is moving in a glorious way all across Europe.”

Opwekking means “revival,” and the foundation behind the event says its mission is to follow “Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Similar signs of awakening have also been reported in France, where tens of thousands of believers gathered across more than 20 cities to pray, march, and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
