The History of Joseph

Picture Joseph pushed into a pit by his brothers in his parka of many colors
There was no pity by his peers in preventing that pit
Priced and purchased as a slave and then placed with Potiphar
But then he was pathetically accused by Potiphar's provocative wife
This placed him on a path to prison
Prison life was a place of pain and patience
Penitentiaries weren't playgrounds back then
Prisoners weren't playing putt putt or ping pong
But after the pit, Potiphar and prison he got promoted to power in the palace
The proving of the pit proved a point that plots from other people don't prevail when you pick God's perfect plan
Even powerful Potiphar did not pick Joseph's path
It was divine providence not Potiphar
Even your own personal Potiphars cannot cloud your own life's picture
Though prison was permitted and not pursued Joseph prospered in his plight
The problem of the penitentiary actually prepared him for the palace
God's promise put him in power to rule over that present population
Prayer connects the puzzle pieces of all our problems
Your plethora of problems may actually be preparing you for the place of promotion
Your personal problems can push you into your purpose
And those petty punk brothers that placed him in a pit led a procession to the palace to apologize for that evil plot of the past
If we stay positive in pain and problems we progress into the next promotion and fulfill our purpose

Proverbs

This ancient book has what we need for life
To keep our mouth from evil and creating strife
To keep us from the path of destruction
To speak to us words of instruction

Those words will guide us and give us direction
If our hearts our open, if we will receive correction
To correct, rebuke, encourage and lead
These inspired words we must obey and heed

From the wisest man among the wise
Like a knife cutting through all the lies
If we listen, if we will hear it
In these proverbs we can hear the Spirit

Or.we can just think it is for someone else
And neglect looking inside our self
We can choose to listen inside Solomon's school
Or ignore it and let them become the proverbs of fools

Silver Refined

Psalm 66:10-For you, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined. You brought us into the net; You laid affliction on our backs. You have caused men to ride over our heads; We went through fire and water but you brought us out to rich fulfillment.

There is a fire God has designed
For that is how silver is refined
It is not our will or our desire
But He has to take us into the fire
We cannot have any other security
As the fire burns away every impurity
The flames last as long as He permits
The fire does its work as long as we submit
The silver has to be carefully managed
If left too long in the fire it could be damaged
When is the piece of silver fully refined?
How can we know? Can it be timed?
Well that is easy, to the silversmith it is clear
The silver is finished when His image appears

God Searched for the 99

God came to Abram
When he was 99
Abram would have a son
It was part of God's design

No longer was he Abram
He was now Abraham
His son would be a sign
Of the sacrificial lamb

Abraham had to wait
He had to go through strife
But God never forgot
The calling on his life

He laughed at the thought
That Sarah would have a son
But even in his old age
God's work was not done

God may make us wait
And the sea may not part
But in that time of waiting
God does something in our heart

In our journey of faith
Goodness may be concealed
But if we stay faithful to God
His blessing will be revealed
