July 28th 2021 is National Buffalo Soldiers Day and as part of the Ohio Command, of the VA authorized Veteran Service Organization, the National Black Veterans Association I would you have someone contact me on a proclamation or support during that days activities.

In south west Ohio we would read it out at the park monument in Cincinnati for Cincinnati Black Brigade of the civil war. We then will go to the William Howard Taft National Historic Site in my family neighborhood of Mt Auburn (I used to be a community council member and LSDMC in Mt. Auburn) to commemorate Buffalo Soldiers as Park Rangers.

FYI - In 1866, Congress passed legislation known as the Army Organization Act, which formalized the creation of six all-Black U.S. Cavalry and infantry units. National Buffalo Soldiers Day will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

From at least Ohio, California, Oklahoma, New York, Kansas, Texas and in Washington DC we will honor Charles Young who was just a couple of years old when he and his family escaped slavery by crossing the Ohio River into Ripley, Ohio. He would go on to become the first Black man to become a Colonel in the United States Army, the first Black National Park superintendent and the highest-ranking Black man in the regular army during his lifetime.

Young was a "Buffalo Soldier," the name given to the all-Black 9th and 10th Army Regiments by the Native Americans they encountered.

I call for the establishment of the African Caucus of Methodists (ACM). The ACM will exist to:

connecting the People of African Descent who are Methodists;

build solidarity among various People of African Descent who are Methodists;

be a platform for cooperative efforts among the People of African Descent who are Methodists;

discuss, interact, and reach for united solutions and consensus as a group for empowerment and ministry of all People of African Descent who are Methodists and all aspects global methodist infrastructure including missions, agencies, schools, colleges, universities, medical centers and Methodist ministry based enterprises such as WesPath;

develop strategies for empowerment of People of African Descent and growth the churches in the methodist family;

advocate for staff drawn from People of African Descent in all levels of the methodist churches;

meeting the call for solutions using digital means of connection in meeting the call for global economic change because of the Global Pandemic;

build the global ministry for salvation of People of African Descent in line with the unification plans of Agenda 2063 of the African Union;

advocate for immediate racial justice ministries within the global Methodist Church family; and,

concentrate around Human Rights with a focus on ending all forum of modern slavery.

“A same-sex marriage license issued by competent civil authorities together with the clergy person’s status in a same-sex relationship is a public declaration that the person is a self-avowed practicing homosexual” for purposes of the prohibitive language in the United Methodist Book of Discipline, Paragraphs 304.3 and 2702.1(b), the council ruled.

Judicial Council, top court for The United Methodist Church, says bishop “in good standing” until due process completed.

We should put in a bid to host this in the Ohio River Valley of the West Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church.

Through an affirmative vote at their fall meeting this week, the United Methodist Council of Bishops expressed their intent to call for a special session of the General Conference in either February or March of 2019.

Notice of time and place of a regular or special session of the charge conference shall be given at least ten days in advance by two or more of the following (except as local laws may otherwise provide): from the pulpit of the church, in its weekly bulletin, in a local church publication, or by mail.

We are coming up on ours and need to know what our lay leader Fredrick Holdbrook wants to do.

One thing I want to confirmation of my ministry called the African Coalition of the United Methodist Church which will be in line with the ministry message of the African Bishops of 2015 issued from Zimbabwe

Within the pastoral charge the basic unit in the connectional system of The United Methodist Church is the charge conference.
