They never forgot their past: Moses never forgot how he killed a man in a fit of anger. Paul never forgot how he had persecuted the Church of God. Matthew never forgot how, as a tax collector for the Roman Empire, he had cheated his people. But God forgot their past. He forgave all their sins; and he even called them to proclaim his mercy. So often, when life gets hard, we get frustrated. We don’t understand how God could be working always for our good. On this Holy Trinity Sunday, we see that all three persons of God—Father, Son, and Spirit—love us with an everlasting love, always working to build our faith. This is God's mission; and this is the mission he tells us to carry out, as we gather more people into his Church. Join us in worship of the Holy Trinity! This Sunday, we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as he brought spiritual gifts. He was already present in the lives of those who believed. But on that first Pentecost (50 days after Easter), Jesus empowered his disciples by means of the Holy Spirit, so they would always remember that Jesus was with them, and that the Father loves them because of the work of his Son, Jesus. Jesus empowers us today!

We rejoice that our former vicar Eric Fluegge was assigned as pastor at Salem Lutheran in Ann Arbor.

We give praise to the Lord of the Church! Eric Fluegge has been assigned to serve as a pastor at Salem, Ann Arbor. We can't wait to welcome him, his wife Alyson, and their two children to our church home.
