MAKE IT AWKWARD. CHECK ON YOUR BROTHERS

Bikers know what it means to look out for each other on the road. But looking out for each other shouldn’t stop when the ride ends.

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is ask the uncomfortable question:
“Are you okay?”
“Do you need to talk?”
“Are you thinking about su***de?”

It may feel awkward. Ask anyway.

Real strength isn’t always toughing it out alone. Sometimes it’s speaking up when you’re struggling—and sometimes it’s noticing when someone else is.

Sometimes the conversations that matter most are the ones that feel the hardest to start.

We’re introducing the Make It Awkward video series — real conversations with people throughout Hancock County about mental health, su***de prevention, asking difficult questions and looking out for one another.

We’re starting with members of Hancock County Law Enforcement, who see firsthand the impact mental health struggles can have on individuals, families and our entire community.

It might feel awkward to ask someone, “Are you okay?”

It might feel uncomfortable to talk about mental health.

And it can be especially difficult to ask someone if they’re thinking about su***de.

But that conversation could make all the difference.

Watch. Share. Talk about it.

Make It Awkward. Because silence shouldn’t be easier than asking the question.
