The ache you are feeling is a spiritual ache.
There is a holy dissatisfaction rising in the hearts of many.
It isn't depression.
It isn't burnout.
It isn't that you've lost your love for God.
It's the Spirit awakening an appetite that religion can no longer satisfy.
You have been trying to find words for what your spirit has been groaning.
You have been trying to find language to put behind what you are feeling.
You sit in services, attend meetings, sing the songs, yet something deep within you keeps crying, "There has to be more."
That ache is not a sign that something is wrong with your faith.
It is evidence that heaven is calling you deeper.
There is a generation that is growing weary of polished presentations that lack power.
They are tired of substitutes and counterfeits.
They are no longer impressed by giftedness without glory, excellence without holiness, or crowds without conviction.
Something inside them is crying out for the weightiness of God.
The Hebrew word kabod speaks of God's glory as His weightiness and many are beginning to feel the weight of eternity pressing against the emptiness of religious routine.
Once you have tasted His presence, nothing else can satisfy.
This is why David cried, "One thing have I desired of the Lord..." (Psalm 27:4).
He wasn't asking for another victory or another throne.
He longed to dwell in the house of the Lord because he understood that His presence was the prize.
The Spirit is restoring that cry to the Church in this hour.
The ache is exposing the difference between visitation and habitation.
Like Moses, your cry is becoming, "If Your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here" (Exodus 33:15).
This is not a craving for another conference, another title, another platform, or another spiritual experience to add to your collection.
It is a longing for Him.
The Spirit is breaking the chains of religious routine and awakening hearts to seek the face of God instead of merely maintaining the form of godliness.
He is stirring a people that refuse to settle for status quo Christianity when they have been invited into communion with the living Christ.
Do not silence the ache, feed it.
Don't medicate it with busyness or distract it with entertainment, let it drive you to the secret place until your longing becomes your dwelling place.
The ache is holy.
It is the birth pain of a people who were created for habitation, not just visitation.
The ache is not your enemy.
It is the invitation.
It is the Spirit pulling you out of shallow waters and into the depths where only complete surrender can sustain you.
Psalm 42 says, "Deep calls unto deep."
And that call is getting louder and louder for those who have ears to hear.
The deep places of God are calling to the deep places within His people.
And at the same time there is a groan rising in the Bride that human, finite words cannot fully express.
The Spirit is calling His Bride out of comfort and into consecration, out of routine and into relentless pursuit.
The days of being content with a touch from God are giving way to a generation that will not rest until they become a dwelling place for His Spirit.
