Before the decision. Before the next step. Before the fear starts writing stories in your mind... Pray. 🙏

God never asked us to carry the weight of every choice alone. He invites us to seek His wisdom, trust His timing, and follow His peace. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” — James 1:5

Prayer does not always give immediate answers, but it often gives something just as valuable: clarity, peace, and confidence that God is already going before you. If your heart is longing to slow down and hear God's voice more clearly, explore our devotionals, peaceful worship playlists, and Guided Moments with God audio experiences—all linked in bio. Thank you for helping us continue sharing faith, hope, and encouragement with this community each day. 🤍

Dear Friends in Christ:

I am cordially inviting you to “Save the Date” for the Great Rivers Region Biennial Gathering 2026. This year it will be held at The First Baptist Church of Bloomington, Illinois October 15-17. There will be many great speakers this year to help and challenge us in the ministry. This year’s theme is Transforming Lives Through Christ: Reach, Restore, and Revive.

We will begin on Thursday, October 15, in the afternoon at the church with a Minister’s Conference. Dr. Kathy Maxwell, Vice President of Central Seminary, will be leading us through Biblical Storytelling. Dr. Ed Rogers will be present to talk about Renew Transformation Strategies and GRR Leaders will also introduce you to the partnership utilizing Congregational Health Tools. Dr. Robin Stoops will also be present to share about the American Baptist Foundation and The Antioch Center.

On Friday afternoon, October 16, the Gathering will begin with Dr. Ryan Burge (pastor, author, and Political Scientist) sharing about his new book, The Vanishing Church. The keynote speaker for our event will be Dr. Karl Vaters, author, and pastor, who has experience in pastoring all sizes of congregations and shares his insight on being faithful to reach people for Jesus Christ today. Karl will also share on Saturday morning and we will finish by noon.

You will be updated on ministries of the GRR and will experience uplifting worship. It is always a wonderful time when we get together as the ABCGRR family.

Please begin thinking about how YOU can share new and exciting ministries your congregation is engaging in to make a difference in your community, especially where you are reaching, restoring, and reviving.

Mark your calendar now to be present and a part of our family gathering. October 15-17, 2026.

In His Service,
Rev. Patty King Bilyeu
Executive Minister

You don’t have to have everything figured out today. Some days will feel clear. Some days will feel heavy. Some days you’ll feel strong in your faith… and other days you’ll simply be trying to make it through. God is with you in all of it. He isn’t asking you to be perfect... just faithful enough to keep showing up.

So take the next small step. Say the quiet prayer. Trust Him with what you can’t control. Because even in slow seasons, God is still moving. “Let us not become weary in doing good…” — Galatians 6:9 💛 If you need a peaceful place to reconnect with God, our worship playlists and devotionals are linked on our page—created to help you slow down and rest in His presence. Everything is linked in our bio.
