When we read the genealogy of Jesus, we can be tempted to skip over the names. But behind those names is a powerful story of God's grace.
Jesus' lineage comes through Leah and Judah.
Leah was the wife Jacob did not love as he loved Rachel. Judah wasn't the firstborn. And Judah himself had a troubled past.
Yet God chose this unlikely family line to bring forth David, and ultimately Jesus Christ.
That teaches us an important truth:
God's purposes are not limited by our circumstances, our position, or our past.
Today, let's look at four truths from Leah and Judah's story.

We notice large crowds, large buildings, large numbers, large accomplishments, and large platforms. It is easy to begin believing that if something is going to make a significant difference, it must begin with something significant. We can even bring that thinking into our relationship with God and assume that unless we have great abilities, tremendous resources, or extraordinary opportunities, there is not much God can do through us.

Jesus gives us a very different picture of the Kingdom of God. When He wanted His followers to understand how God's Kingdom works, He pointed them toward one of the smallest and most ordinary things they would have known: a mustard seed. There was nothing impressive about the seed itself. You could hold it between your fingers and easily overlook it, but hidden inside that tiny seed was the potential for something far greater than its appearance suggested.

Over the last few weeks, we have been discovering what it means to be Kingdom Focused. We began by learning that the Kingdom of God is the rule and reign of God. Last week, Jesus challenged us in Matthew 6:33 to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.” This week, I want us to take the next step and ask a very practical question: What does Kingdom living actually look like? If Jesus is truly our King and we are living under His rule, then eventually His rule should become visible in the way we live.

Whether you're in college, starting a career, raising a family, or simply navigating the challenges of adulthood we would love for you to join us. Our Young Adults Class is for those who have graduated high school through age 30. We strive to create a welcoming environment where young adults can connect, encourage one another, ask questions, and deepen their relationship with Christ. Through biblical teaching, authentic fellowship, and practical application of Scripture, we seek to equip believers to live out their faith in everyday life. We also plan events outside of church to build relationships within the group and strengthen our community.

Join us as we grow together, serve together, and pursue God's purpose for our lives.

Anxiety has become one of the defining characteristics of our generation. We worry about our finances, our health, our families, our jobs, our future, and even the condition of our world. Although the circumstances have changed since the first century, the human heart has not. The people listening to Jesus worried about food, clothing, security, and tomorrow just as we do today.
