Colossians 2:2-3 The Complete Jewish Bible says this passage like this, "2 My purpose is that they may be encouraged, that they may be joined together in love, and that they may have all the riches derived from being assured of understanding and fully knowing God’s secret truth, which is — the Messiah! 3 It is in him that all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden."

Folks we are living in the last days before the return of Christ. These last days are times of evil and deception and I am seeing way too many good folks being swayed and falling into sin. I will begin a series of messages on "The Fundamental Doctrines of The Church" beginning this Sunday, February 18, 2024. I recommend that you purchase from Amazon Kindle a book by "Dr. J. W. Carroll entitled "The Trail of Blood." The cost of the book for online reading including taxes is only one dollar and a few pennies. I will reference this book during this series of messages. "Pray without ceasing!"

Wandering Minds Need To Know

How long can you stay focused on the task at hand? A Wandering Mind is a dangerous thing. As my parents used to say “An idle mind is the devil's workshop.” I think Paul knew this truth all too well. What did he say in Rom 7:23? but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.

I hope and pray that you will go worship God The Father in spirit and truth tomorrow in the church of your choice. You are welcome to come worship with us at Westside Baptist Church at 11:00 and even attend Sunday School at 10:00. Children are welcome.

Christian Duty Part 2, Philippians 1:12-2:18......To live is Christ!! What a statement!! What a truth for every true believer!! 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Yes my friend, as a Christian, you are supposed to be the “spittin image of yo pa.” You have been born again into a lively hope. You have been born again into the hope of the resurrection of your body just like “yo pa,” Jesus Christ. Obviously, most folks do not look at this verse of scripture the same way that I am looking at it, but after today, well, maybe they will!!! If you are going to fulfill your Christian Duty, you need to look like “yo pa” spiritually speaking. Personally, physically speaking, “none ah yall” are as pretty as Jesus. Spiritually, we are to live and die the same way that Jesus lived and died. Jesus lived and died in obedience, even in obedience to death on the cross.

Good morning. As you look to a Happy end of 2023 and look to a New Beginning in 2024 I pray that you will be looking forward to a year filled with praise and honor for Jesus Christ The Lord of all Creation. Listen to Him, He is The Word. Believe in Him, He is The Gospel. Follow Him, He is The Life and Light. Obey Him, He is The Voice of God. Rejoice in Him, He is The Life, The Resurrection, The Alpha and Omega. Lift up His name above all other names because Christ is All.

If you belong to the people of God, you will be resolved to become successful in what God intended for you to be from the beginning of Creation. As God is speaking to His people through Jeremiah in Jeremiah 13:11 we find what God intended for His people;

................... I made the whole house of Isra’el and the whole house of Y’hudah cling to me,’ says Adonai, ‘so that they could be my people, building me a name and becoming for me a source of praise and honor. But they would not listen.(CJB)

Mark this passage in your Bible. Jeremiah 13:11. I pray that you will listen to the Word of God and see just how important this verse of scripture is for you to hear and understand going forward in your life as a child of God.

Our Christmas Celebration will begin tomorrow at 10:00 am.
Come enjoy our Celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ The Lord.

Long ago, the chosen people of God, the nation of Israel were waiting on God and expecting Him to fulfill His promise for their Messiah to come and deliver them from their sin. It is in His One and Only Son, Jesus, that God fulfilled His promise to every person in Israel. He also made their Messiah available to all who will believe in Him by calling on His name and repenting of their sins. Today, all believers from every tribe and nation are waiting on the promise of Jesus our Messiah and Savior. We are waiting on Jesus and expecting Him to fulfill His promise to come again. He has promised that He will come again in the clouds of the air to receive us unto Himself so that we can be with Him forever in His new kingdom.

Merry Christmas to you and yours. May the blessing of Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior rest upon you. Thank you for being faithful to His cause. Please, go and tell others the true meaning of the Christmas season. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Luke 1:32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

God wants to Show Up And Show Off and give you eternal life through the greatest gift ever offered to mankind. Will you receive His gift in Jesus Christ His Son today? I truly pray that you will be prepared to meet, the Son of the Most High, Jesus Christ The Lord when He comes again.

When God Shows Up and Shows Off 2 Luke1:26-38,
Matthew 1:16-24

When God shows up and shows off, He commands three things from each and every one of us. God commands us to believe that He is who He says He is. He commands us to trust Him that He will do what He says He will do. He commands us to obey what He says!!!!

Joseph and Mary learned this truth when they were very young. The scriptures indicate they were probably in their late teens or early twenties and that they were both right with God because they were very knowledgeable of and believed the Hebrew Scriptures. Throughout the Old Testament scriptures God revealed Himself to His people in His Hebrew Names. Joseph and Mary believed that God is who He says He is. They trusted Him to do what He said He will do. They obeyed what He said!!!!

Here is some of my sermon introduction for tomorrow. I pray you will come and experience our love and fellowship with one another and our Worship of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.

WHEN GOD SHOWS UP HE SHOWS OFF 4 things related to His sovereign power. A blessing. A cursing. A rebuke. A reward. We will look at these 4 things in Luke 1:5-25 in our first Pre-Christmas passage.

I find it difficult to start talking about Christmas unless I begin with the birth of John the Baptist. After all, our Baptist heritage can be traced all the way back to this man of God and his character because we continue “to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”

The main reason to me that we celebrate the birth of our Savior is because we are “a people prepared” to see Him Show up and Show off at the end of the age when we will be caught up together in the clouds with all the saints of old to meet the Lord in the air. Hallelujah!!!!!
