I struggled to find the right words to truly express my sincere gratitude to every member of Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church for allowing me the honor of serving as your Pastor. It has been a blessing that I will always cherish. Through every challenge and every circumstance, I believe we were all part of God’s greater plan.

Together, we prayed, we cried, we worshiped, and we celebrated. Through it all, we stood side by side. Because of your faith, commitment, and love for this ministry, we have made a meaningful impact not only within our church, but throughout our community and the surrounding areas. You have shown that Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church truly is one of the most loving and powerful churches in the Detroit area.

Thank you for your unwavering love and support. Thank you for the kindness you have shown to me and to my family. Your prayers, encouragement, and generosity have meant more to us than words can fully express.

While it is difficult to accept that every season must eventually come to an end, I take comfort in knowing that this is not goodbye forever. I look forward to the day when we will see one another again “on the other side.” What a joyful moment it will be when we gather once more to worship and praise together as we stand before our Savior face to face.

And as I have always said: people don’t have to be nice, and when they are, they certainly don’t have to be nice to you. So for every act of kindness, every prayer, every word of encouragement, you have my deepest thanks.

Continue, in all of your endeavors, continue forever, to “Embrace the Sinner, Edify the Saint, and Exalt the Savior.”

With love and heartfelt gratitude,
-Pastor Breon and Lady Joy Williams

Mount Hebron pauses to acknowledge the passing of Joyce Chambers, the daughter of Pastor and Lady Emeritus, Sampson and Joanne Matthews. As you mourn this loss, the entire family is in our prayers.
May the peace of God comfort you during this season of grief.

Shoutout to our own, Wilkanda LaShelle Goodman, for allowing Mt Hebron Missionary Baptist Church and the community to partner as we hosted a much need blood drive. The drive was so successful. Their goal was 20 because we were a sickle cell drive. Only black blood usually can help with sickle cell patients. We collected 21 bags (pints) of blood which will aid or save 63 lives. Although the devil was busy and we had to delay our drive two hours we still did really well. We also were forced to cancel about five appointments.

We did so well that Gerry, the Red Cross Area coordinator, is asking us if we’re able to do another sickle cell drive in May.
