Nobody has taken the blessing from you. You are blessed in the city and blessed in the country. That means you are blessed when things are going your way and blessed when they’re not going your way. You’re blessed in the palace and blessed in the pit. You are blessed when people are good to you and blessed when they’re trying to stop you. Here’s the key: the blessing did not come from people, so it cannot be taken away by people.

All through the Gospels, we read that wherever Jesus went, He was moved with compassion for people. He didn't just feel sorry for those in need. No, His compassion moved Him to action. In the same way, the Scripture says about us, "If anyone...sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart of compassion against him, how can the love of God live in him?" (1 John 3:17)

It’s easy to go through life wearing masks, acting one way for our boss, one way for our friends, and another way for our spouse. Because we’re not secure in who we are, we feel a need to impress, to prove something to people, so we pretend, even with each other. But in order to get well, you have to get real. It’s time to take off that mask and be honest. When you get down to the real you, that’s when God can turn things around.

A lot of times, we know what we should do, but we make excuses and reason it out. “I’ll do it later. I’m busy now.” But we have to understand that God doesn’t ask us to do it for His sake. He asks us to do it for our own sake. We’ve learned that before God will release big blessings, He will give us small tests. Too often we dismiss it and think, “Oh, that’s no big deal.” But if we don’t pass these small tests, it will keep us from the big things God has in store.

When you read that God says you are His masterpiece, created anew in Christ Jesus so you can do the good things He planned for you (Ephesians 2:10), is that the person you feel like? When He says that in all the things you face today, "you are more than a conqueror through Him who loved us" (Romans 8:37), is that how you see yourself? When He says you are created in His image and His most treasured possession, do you wonder if He's referring to you? When He speaks about us, He is looking at us as if we're already the complete person He's making us into. Despite however much you may feel to the contrary, God sees you in your wholeness and has declared these things are true through Christ Jesus.

Right now, the Father is running toward you.

Prayer for Today: Father, I praise You because You are all-powerful and all-knowing. I ask You to help me take the limits off my life. I let go of old mindsets and negative labels and commit to renew my mind by meditating on Your powerful words. I declare I am increasing in faith and in the knowledge of Your Word.
