The Gift
There’s one more gift yet to unwrap.
This gift is available to the very wealthy, and poor alike.
It’s more precious than rubies, diamonds, silver, or gold.
It can’t be bought nor can it be sold.
This gift gives life, hope, joy, and peace.
It can be unwrapped all over the world at the same time.
You can be on a bus, train, or an airplane.
Dressed up or in your PJs.
But once this gift is unwrapped your life will be forever changed.
Your feedback
What is the gift?

Are you humbly grateful or are you grumbly hateful?

Are you experiencing adversity and hardships?

Joseph had his share of hardships. His brothers hated him, they sold him into slavery, he was falsely accused, he was put into prison and yet he was able to find joy. God used adversity and hardships to prepare Joseph for a great work. Maybe God is trying to prepare you for a great work also.

James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Choose your words wisely, In case you have to eat them yourself

Many times people say things they really don’t mean, or repeat things they were told without knowing rather it is true or not. It’s called gossip (another title for another day).
In many cases with deep regret they wish they could take back what was said, but sad to say the words spoken can never be taken back, even with the sincerest of apologies.
In many cases relationships have been changed or altered and in some cases relationships have been totally destroyed.
I would like to encourage you today to stop before you speak and ask yourself these three questions.

1 What is the driving motive behind what I am about to say? Is it love or something else?

2 If I were on the receiving end of my own words would they be bitter or sweet?

3 Would I be building this person up with what I am about to say or tearing them down?

It’s no cost to you to stop before you speak, but it can be very costly if you don’t.

Jas 3:2-12 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things.
Behold how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

Pro 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Hold your tongue; bite it if you have to.

In Control

If you think that you are in control of your life try controlling the air that you breathe, hold on to it, don’t release it back to God, keep holding it, after all you are in control, hold it, hold it. How is that working for you?

Every breath that we take comes from God. We breathe in the breath of God and we release that breath back to Him. One day our final breath will return to God.

Give Him control of your life while there is still breath in your lungs.

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Jesus Knows

Our family and friends may be able to say “I know how you feel” when we are in the midst of trials. Then there are those that don’t have a clue as to what we are experiencing because they can’t relate to us. They have never walked in our shoes.

Jesus knows exactly how we feel because He has experienced everything that we are going through.

Heb 4:15-16 Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. But he did not sin! So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved kindness, and we will find help. (CEV)

Intercessor or Complainer

Are you an intercessor or a complainer? It’s easy to complain about how terrible the world is but are we making intercession for the world. We must remember that someone interceded for us to come to Christ. We can complain or intercede. What will it be?

Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Jesus’ blood, Shed for many

The blood of Jesus was shed for many, and is still available to all that will receive its’ cleansing power

Mar 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

God’s Wash Cycle

So you have gathered your dirty laundry, placed it into the washer, added your detergent, started the wash cycle and then you find another piece of clothing that you add to the wash.

Do the articles of clothing that were originally placed in the washer have the right to reject the piece that was added later? I don’t think so.

Sometimes we as believers think that because we have been in the wash longer we are better than those that are to be added later.

Are we all not in the same wash cycle?

Doesn’t the same blood that washes us wash the ones that are added later?

Remember that none of us have reached the final rinse yet.

Psa 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Psa 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
