Recently, I've met more young Nigerian widows complaining bitterly about how difficult it is becoming to fend for their children.

These are women probably in their late twenties or at most, mid-thirties, but because of the constant hardship they have to put up with on a daily basis they would easily pass for women in their late forties or even early fifties.

Life indeed can be very funny, funny in such a way that when it begins to unleash its surprises, one would wonder if they've been singled out by the universe for spacial punishment.

Indeed, life does not slways give us what we bargain for. I'm sure none of these "poor widows" ever bargained to be widows, but like the saying goes, life happens, and it sure have a way of coming at us like a whirlwind.

At , we understand the plight of widows and the less privileged children, this is why we have continued to intensify our efforts towards reaching out to them by constantly EXTENDING GOD'S HANDS OF LOVE TO THEM, and we are poised to do even more.

This is because CHERISH LIFE CHARITY FOUNDATION believes in GOD and humanity.

We believe that with love, the world can become a better place for us and our children.

What we do at goes beyond just providing aid to the less privileged people.

Beyond the outreaches, the distribution of foodstuff, and the enrollment and payment of school fees for students, we also provide love, care, and services that reignite hope and promote the well-being of the people.

We believe that humans are extensions of God on earth, and as such, our major aim is to keep extending God's love to humanity.

"Every sunrise is an invitation for us to arise and brighten someone's day" Richelle E. Goodrich.

In 2022, I had the opportunity to supervise an outreach in one of the villages in Ebonyi State.

During the event, wrappers were given out to the widows, after which I requested a dance with the beautiful widows. The goal was to make them feel celebrated and loved. The women were very excited as they happily danced out their hearts.

Then, this particular young widow danced in my direction, held me tightly while still dancing, and whispered into my ears with a beaming smile that could brighten even the darkest of hearts.

"This is the first time I have ever received a wrapper, thank you for making this happen for me." paraphrased.

On hearing this, my heart melted not just in pity for this young widow who never asked to be in the situation she had found herself in but in the excitement that we could, through our social work, be a conduit through which that woman's life was brightened.

Not knowing how best to respond, I just held her closely, then with a broader smile whispered back to her, "Thank you, Ma'am, for accepting our service of love, don't worry, God in heaven will come through for you and this will mark the beginning of beautiful things in your life." Paraphrased.

Well, at that point, I could feel her heart palpitating with joy as though she had won a medal.

This, and more is what one act of charity can do to a soul.

In most Igboland, giving a woman wrapper is considered a big honour; that's why I understood that woman's excitement, and I was happy we could give her that honour.

As our opening quote asserts, every sunrise is an invitation to get up, go out there, and brighten someone's life with gestures of kindness and love. You never can tell how far those little acts of service/charity can go in making the day of other people.

This is why we at do not take any opportunity to EXTEND GOD'S HANDS TO HUMANITY for granted.
We love even the most unlovable.
We serve.
We care.
We bring divinity to humanity.
We extend God's hands to humanity.

While we pray and trust God for a better year, let's not forget that there are people whose survival this year will depend on our kind gestures.

Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we try to look out for others.

BE A CHANNEL THROUGH WHICH THE LOVE OF GOD FLOWS TO THOSE AROUND YOU.

If you have been healed, you're healed to be a healer.

If you have been lifted, you're lifted to be a lifter.

If you have been comforted, you're comforted to be a comforter.

If you have been shown mercy, you're shown mercy to be merciful.

If you have been inspired, you're inspired to be an inspiration.

If you have been encouraged, you're encouraged to be an encourager.

If you have been beautified, you're beautified to be a beautifier.

If you have been mentored, you're mentored to be a mentor.

If you have been helped, you're helped to be a helper.

"He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us." 2 Corinthians 1:4. NIV.

If there is anything that we should all strive to be this year and beyond, I would say it is to be a CHANNEL through which the love of God is spread to humanity.

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give" - Winston Churchill.

Everyone wishes for the world to get better. But does everyone work towards bettering the world?

That's a question worth reflecting on. At , we do not only wish for the world to be better, but we also work towards making and seeing that happen.

We aim to see that each life that God brings our way is impacted by the love of God through our genuine acts of service.

In this picture are some of the beautiful children under Cherish_Life_Scholarship. We believe that by educating these kids who otherwise could have been out in the street, we make the world better.

The future of every child matters to us at ; that's why we do not just sit around wishing for the world to be better; we labour to make it so every day by GENUINELY EXTENDING GOD'S HANDS TO HUMANITY.
