Everyone has every excuse for not being in the house of God, yet they can go to work, attend family functions and go shopping, among other things. I wonder who really is our God?
Matthew 22:37

A Southern Baptist pastor has raised concern over a major attendance gap in the Southern Baptist Convention, noting that while membership reaches 16 million, only about 6 million attend weekly worship. He warns that regularly missing church is spiritually dangerous for believers, arguing it disrupts God’s primary design for spiritual growth through preaching and fellowship.

Citing Hebrews 10:24–25, he emphasizes that corporate worship is a biblical command, not optional, and reflects obedience to God. He also cautions that skipping church sends a message that God is not worthy of priority, replacing worship with worldly activities and weakening Christian witness and spiritual maturity.
