Today is Memorial Day, we will hear parades and get a day off work but, as followers of Jesus we are called first to remember with reverence.
We remember those who didn’t come home and for the families and friends who still feel the absence of those who are gone. We grieve with those who live with loss everyday.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice we can face death not with denial, but with hope, because of his resurrection we can mourn without despair.
This weekend let us name the fallen in prayer not as statistics but as names known by God.
