Youth Ministry season is here at St. Vincent de Paul!

Teens participating in Youth Ministry, Confirmation, or Mission Trek are invited to experience Alpha Youth this fall—a welcoming place to enjoy dinner, games, small groups, meaningful conversations, and plenty of fun!

Bring a friend—they don’t need to be Catholic! 🤗

Important dates:

• September 16: Parent meetings and registration deadline
• October 3–4: Fall Retreat—“Can I Get a Connection?”
• October 7, 6:30–8:00 PM: Alpha Kickoff—dinner included!

As light breaks through the clouds, remind us that Your presence is always near—even in life’s darkest and most uncertain moments.

Shine Your light upon our parish families. Fill our hearts with hope, strengthen our faith, and guide us to be a reflection of Your love to everyone we encounter.

May our parishes always be a place where all are welcomed, burdens are shared, and Your light shines brightly.

Just FYI, LOCATION UPDATE for today’s gathering! 📍

Fr. Dion would love the opportunity to get to know our families with young children—and for you to get to know one another!

Join us for a relaxed afternoon at Penny’s Park where the kids can play, parents can connect, and families can enjoy pizza and ice cream together.

No formal program—just a chance to gather, meet Fr. Dion, share a little about your experience of coming to church with young children, and build friendships with other families.

Date: Saturday, August 29
Time: 3:30–4:30 PM
Location: Mini Vinnies

And when the picnic wraps up, families are invited to head over together for 5:00 PM Mass. 🙏

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary🤍

Mary, having completed her earthly life, was taken body and soul into the glory of Heaven. A beautiful reminder that Heaven is not just something we hope for, but the home we were created for.

Mary’s life was one great yes to God. She trusted when she didn’t understand. She remained faithful through joy and unimaginable sorrow.
And today, we honour the glory that awaited her beyond it all.

For anyone carrying grief, suffering or a season that feels heavy, the Assumption reminds us that death does not have the final word. Our story does not end here. Through Christ, we have the hope of Heaven and the promise of eternal life.
Our Lady assumed into Heaven, pray for us.
Help us to keep our eyes fixed on your Son and lead us gently home to Him.

Men on a Mission — growing in faith, friendship, and service. 🙏

Our Men on a Mission gathered this week to strengthen relationships, reflect together, and begin planning for the year ahead—creating opportunities that will deepen their spirituality, grow their knowledge of the Catholic faith, and put that faith into action in our community.

Some of the ideas they’re looking forward to include a walking Rosary at the Retreat Center, watching and reflecting on The Chosen, gathering for prayer and exercise, and finding meaningful ways to serve others.

There is something powerful about Catholic men coming together to pray, learn, encourage one another, and live out their faith in everyday life.

Want to join Men on a Mission? All men are welcome! Gatherings are held on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:00 PM.

God bless these committed Catholic men and the year of faith, fellowship, and mission ahead! 💙🙏
