Throughout the New Testament, we see a church that is empowered by the Holy Spirit and strengthened through the ministry of spiritual gifts. These gifts were never intended to be confusing, divisive, or pushed to the margins of church life. They were given by God to build up His people, reveal Jesus, and help the church fulfill its mission in the world. This weekend, we’ll explore what it means to be a spiritually-gifted church, the vision God has for His people, and why this matters for Northwest Church.

In the beginning of the book of Acts, we see that the Holy Spirit was poured out and the Church began to move in the power and leading of the Holy Spirit. In Acts chapter 4, Peter and John were dragged into the temple courts to be questioned after praying for and seeing a paralyzed man healed in the name of Jesus. In the face of this persecution, the church turns to prayer. Instead of being filled with fear, they asked God to give them confidence and boldness to continue to proclaim the Gospel. As followers of Jesus today, we are still called to reach out to others with boldness. Let’s pray that God would embolden us to be His witnesses!

Our Service Projects Go Team recently served at New Beginnings Homes in Puyallup by building a new onsite storage structure to support their growing ministry efforts.

New Beginnings provides transitional housing, mentorship, and support for pregnant women, single mothers, and their children while creating a place of hope and restoration.

We’re grateful to partner in the work God is doing in this ministry!
