Think about it...
What have you been doing this past year?
Most of us followed the rules of social distancing. We cancelled vacations, spent holiday’s and Birthdays alone.
Ate, gained weight, watched movies, you get the picture.
Think about it...
What lost opportunities did we miss?
Did we forget about our Loving God?
Think about it...
Did we get so caught up on the current pandemic, problems, isolation that we move away from God.
Ok I’m not saying you forgot about God.
Think about it...
Did you miss the opportunity to draw closer to God?
Did you increase you quality time with Him?
Or did the other things consume more of your time.
Think about it...
Where is God right now

Prayer... Not a secret. It works.
Tired of going nowhere. Try prayer. Talk to God. Ask him what he wants.
Feeling down or sick. Try prayer.

What is prayer.
Simple
Prayer is talking to Jesus with out a cell phone.
Try this.
Go somewhere so you can be alone.
Start your prayer by saying... Jesus I believe you are Gods one and only Son. So in your name I say this prayer...
Now talk to God. Tell him what you need to tell him.
Finish your prayer by saying the following. In Jesus name I pray amen.

It's that simple.

Okay I know what you are thinking. It can't be that simple.
Yes it is. It really is that simple.

What happens if I don't get an answer.

Don't give up. Keep praying

Also listen when you are praying. God answers our prayers sometimes very softly in our hearts, so we need to take time during prayer to listen.

Think about it…

Food, TV, Music, Movies, Friends, Work, Play
Okay what about these words?
These are not just words, this is life.

Think about it…

Do we compromise our values with any of these?
For example, what does our choice of music say about who we are?
Do the words have strong or suggestive language?

Think about it…

Everything listed above is what we do and who we are.
Just who are we. Are we living an example pleasing to God?
Do we do things because others do it?
Are we sensitive to God to know the difference between good and bad? Notice I did not say sin.

Think about it…

As adults, we do things we don't let our kids do, why? Can they watch the ‘R’ rated movie? Do you speak words and then when your kids repeat them they get in trouble?

Think about it…

Why do our kids have a different standard then we do?
I’m not saying let your kids do what you are doing. What I’m saying is you should be living the way you want your kids to live.
Stop going to places your kids are not allowed to go. Stop listening to music that has bad/negative words.
Stop drinking/smoking/cursing.
Stop fighting/arguing
The list goes on and on and on and on…

Think about it…

When I read the Bible it is very clear that I am to live a life above reproach.
I am to life a life that demonstrates good Godly character.
I am to live a life that sets an example for my kids and those around me.
I am to live a life that has stamped “GOD APPROVES”.

Think about it…

Does God approve of your life and the life of your family?
Does God approve of your double standard?

Think about it…

GOD APPROVED
That’s what I want in all areas of my life.

Think about it…

What comes to your mind when you hear the word ‘Praise’?

Think about it…

We crave praise. We long to hear someone tell us ‘job well done’, or ‘I’m proud of you’
We long to hear the accolades of praise.

Think about it…

When was the last time you praised someone? We are very good at finding the bad things in people. We highlight their failures, correct their mistakes, and proofread their life. We are quick to interject our thoughts and jump on the band wagon to discredit a spouse or friend. Our actions become magnified when we get others agreeing with our criticism’s

Think about it…

How different your life would be if you put into practice this word: Praise. Giving praise is not that hard. It does take thought. It does take action. It does take change.

Think about it…

Take this challenge. For 21 days use words of praise to a spouse, friend, co-worker, classmate, or bully in your life. See if your words of praise make a difference. I believe they will.
Proverbs 18: 21 (NIV) says: The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Think about it…

A simple change in the way we speak can change you and the people around you. I challenge you today to begin speaking life in those around you. Your rewards will be full of people that want to be with you because of the praise they receive from you.

Think about it…

God also desires our praise. Don’t leave him out. Take the time to praise him and see your life grow in ways you never thought possible.

Think about it…

Sibling Rivalry
Not in my house we all get along.
Right and I believe you why?
Okay I concede, you are an only child, but for everybody else, we know or can relate to this.

Think about it…

Cain is Jealous of brother Able, Cain kills brother Able.
Ishmael, is Jealous of Isaac, Dad kicks Ishmael out of the house.
Esau and Jacob fight in mom’s womb, Jacob stills the fathers blessing.

Think about it…

I can go on and on in history of sibling rivalry.
Most sibling rivalry produces bad blood between family members.
So what about sibling rivalry?
What would happen if this all changed.

Think about it…

Can you even remember why you and your siblings stopping talking/getting along?
How much time has pasted since you truly sat down and talked?
Can these fences be mended?
Can the walls be taken down?

Think about it…

I would never ask you to take down the walls or even repair your fences. I would however ask you to be the person God has called you to be.

Think about it…

What if God treated us the same way we treat our family?
Like it or not WE are all part of God’s family. He is our Father We are his children.
So lets build bridges in our family.
Building bridges does not mean the other person is going to meet you half way. Building a bridge means you are going to go all the way to the other side.
Becoming the person God wants you to become is making a sacrifice to leave your side and go to the other persons side.

Think about it…

Wait this sounds familiar. It is. Jesus left his side, Heaven, and came to our side, Earth and died in our place to remove sin from our life. Be became a bridge between heaven and earth so our family can once again be complete.
I know not everybody is willing to walk across the bridge to meet God. Maybe it’s because you are stopping them with your sibling rivalry.

Think about it…

If we forgive those that have hurt us, then God will forgive us when we hurt him.
This is how we become true to God. Open up his rule book, the BIBLE, and see what he has in store for you.

What if this all happened to you in just one day?
Kick the dog
Step on the cat
Spill coffee on your cloths
Yell at the kids
Get a speeding ticket
Be late to work
Get screamed at by the boss
Get bumper smashed in parking lot
Get emergency call from childs school
Rip your pants
Twist your ankle

Okay enough is enough

Think about it…

Okay maybe I got carried away.

Think about it…

We get upset and angry when we are faced with just 1 of these.
When do we trust God?
When do we welcome God into our day?
When do we praise God?

Think about it…

We should welcome God in the Morning, noon, Evening, and night. We should welcome God in every part of our life. We should welcome God in the God times and the bad. Most important, we should welcome God into our heart.

Think about it…

God Loves You
Talk to him now, invite him into your life
He is waiting for you.
