Mission Field Media

Mission Field Media Mission Field Media exist to share the vision and show the impact of ministries around the world. He has a specific mission for ME!

We use photography, video & storytelling to inspire people to get involved in missions. As a senior in high school I went on my first missions trip to Hungary and Romania. It was there that God placed a burden and calling for missions on my heart. I was torn though because I didn't feel like a regular missionary and didn't want to be a normal missionary. What I DID love to do though was take pictu

res and make videos. A few years after graduating high school and getting married I moved to Fayetteville, AR and got a job with a tv news station (KFSM) where I was professionally trained to be a photojournalist and thrown into the fire that is local tv news. After a few years in the news business I felt my heart pulling me back to missions work, but I needed to be different. It's there when God impressed on me that HE is the one who gave me these desires to do media work and there's a purpose behind it! So I started thinking of ways to start using what I know to do, to build the kingdom of God in the way he designed me to do! In April of 2012 I went on my first missions trip to Belize as a Media Missionary. This was when I went from feeling like I wanted to do this, to KNOWING it's what I was born to do for God's Kingdom! My goal is to go out into all the world and tell the stories of all the great works of God that's happening by the hands of the great missionaries he's sent to those lands. A HUGE part of a missionaries job is raising funds and support for their work and I can give them a new format to not only tell other people about what they're doing for God, but to SHOW them!

Rend Collective is Kristen and my favorite concert to go to (we’ve been to at least 3 so far) because it’s always an Irish Jesus worship party!

It’s so fun and it always makes me think of how David must have danced before the Lord with all his might.

There’s a line in one of their songs that says “I’d rather strike a match than curse the dark” (light drives out darkness), and this world needs the joy of the Lord, right now and forever!

Do yourself a favor and get out to a show if you haven’t already. They’ll still be in Springfield Mo tonight and Mountain Home, AR Sunday! (They tour all over the states and Europe so it’s rare they have multiple shows in our area, so go!!)

The Ugly Uncle Crew back on the mics together again after 10+ years! But this time we’re talking missions!

I’ve been traveling and meeting with people so I haven’t had the time to record new Mission Field Media podcast but we’re getting a few going again and you’ll be able to catch this one, coming to you on December 3rd!

We laughed, got serious when we had to, and can still banter like an old married couple. lol. Enjoy a few clips from us trying to get the ball rolling this morning.

I had finished meeting with a pastor friend and some missionaries that were in town and was waiting in the church lobby for the work day to end when some people start coming in the door and my friend Gerson comes out to say its a group of people that meet once a month to go do local missions around Minneapolis and get to know their community better, and would I like to come share with them about what I do with Mission Field Media.

So, of course, I said sure!

Then they told me they were heading downtown to meet up with a ministry called Breakthrough Ministries, who work with the homeless downtown and also serve as chaplains to the police department and so tonights outreach would be to take some food to them and go talk and pray with them if they wanted and just get to know them etc.

So, I had an early flight out this morning but when they invited me to come along, I couldn’t help myself. I think I have missions FOMO 🤣.

But I’m so glad I went! I got to meet and hang out with some amazing people. Make more connections. See more hands on ministry in Minneapolis and get more people connected.

We also got to sit in on the briefing for the overnight shift and let me tell you, the stuff they deal with on the daily is WILD! Two cops had been stabbed just the night before! Not to mention all the stress of the unrest and eyes and hate of the world that’s been on them since the unrest in 2020.

Regardless of your opinion on all that, there’s a lot of good people putting their lives on the line that had nothing to do with it, one way or another, and they literally lost 2/3rds of their patrolmen after that happened because so many were afraid for their lives. So the ones left are short staffed and still showing up to serve and put their lives on the line for other people. That takes some big time guts! So it was our honor to serve them and pray with them.

And we somehow got out of there without Gerson getting tased, no matter how many times I asked them to do it 🤣.

Like I always tell people, keep your YES on the table, and see what adventures God will lead you into! Make a difference with your life!

So fun having Elisabeth Beemer on the Mission Field Media podcast today! She has such an interesting perspective, growing up on the missions field as a MK (missionary kid) in multiple countries and living out an adventurous life by default, since that’s just been all she’s ever known!

She’s still traveling the world and working with CLUB1040 and CLUB1040Kids!

Looking forward to releasing this in the coming days!
