Did you know that we’re having a BBQ at Peace? Now’s the time to get your $12 tickets! All proceeds will be going towards our outreach efforts to provide food to the unhoused population in our community.

Our postlude from our worship service on Sunday was, “All Hail the Power of Jesus Name” and it was performed by Sarah Szopinski. The words to this hymn were written in 1784 by Edward Perronet. Rev Perronet is said to have been a “sharp-tongued, difficult person,” but he wrote the words to a well loved hymn that we still love today.
Thanks be to God for giving talents to all of us!

Our prelude on Sunday presented by Sara Szopinski was “Where He Leads Me,” I will follow, was written around 1890 by Rev Ernest W Blandy. Rev Blandy and his wife Eliza immigrated to the US from Great Britain in 1884. He wrote this song after choosing to serve The Lord in a NYC slum area instead of a well established church.
Thanks Be To God for those missionaries who serve The Lord with gladness wherever they are called to serve!

On Sunday, QRE (Qualified Ruling Elder) Rob Price was in our pulpit bringing a message from Mark 4 and Exodus 12, titled “Celebrate Passover”. We learned that we are no stronger than our faith in Christ. We all know that Jesus is the Lamb of God and when we celebrate the sacrament of communion, we are keeping the Passover.
Assisting QRE Price were Bill Chater as worship leader and Sara Szopinski was our pianist.
Thanks Be To God for sending His Lamb, Jesus Christ, to us.

presented us with a wonderful postlude on Sunday- “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.” It was written in 1529 by Martin Luther as a hymn of faith and comfort during the Protestant Reformation. It is based on Psalm 46 which says “God is our Refuge and Strength.”

On Sunday, brought forth such beautiful sounds from our organ. Rev Page’s sermon on Christlike Character was brought home with the singing of “We Shall Overcome.” The origins of this song are unclear, but the modern version that we all know was first sung by to***co workers at the Charleston Cigar Factory in Charleston, SC (1945-46) during a strike. The song, led by Lucille Simmons, was their anthem.
