Good afternoon! This is Sally. I want to apologize for creating some confusion this past Sunday. Unknowingly, I marked on my calendar that our monthly potluck was to occur this coming Sunday, August 30th. When in fact, it was actually held this past Sunday, August 23rd. I sincerely apologize for the mix-up and want to let everyone know for future reference, the potluck is always held on the 4th Sunday of the month. I hope I didn't cause too many problems.

Today the Church observes the Feast of Saint Bartholemew

"Apostle St. Bartholomew (or Nathanael, as he is called in St. John’s Gospel) was one of the first of Jesus’ twelve disciples. His home was in the town of Cana, in Galilee (John 21:2), where Jesus’ performed His first miracle. He was invited to become one of the Twelve by Philip, who told him that they had found the Messiah in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. (John 1:45). Bartholomew’s initial hesitation to believe, because of Jesus’ Nazareth background, was quickly replaced by a clear, unequivocal declaration of faith, “You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” (John 1:49). He was present with the other disciples (John 21:1–13) when they were privileged to see and converse and eat with their risen Lord and Savior. According to some Early Church Fathers, Bartholomew brought the Gospel to Armenia, where he was martyred by being flayed alive."

Hey folks. I love y'all. But as a reminder, we will be traveling to Illinois tomorrow after church to see family we have not seen for quite some time. Because I love them too. Vicar Mat will be leading worship on 9 September and while we expect to have a wonderful time with family and friends, I'll be back the following week. Because I'll miss my dogs. And y'all.

This is home. - PJ
