Sunday Sermon Notes....Why Are You Afraid? Numbers 13:27-33 NKJV

We want to brag on the blessings of God but stay scared of the Word from God. Twelve men walked into the same land. They saw the same fruit, the same walls, the same giants. But only two walked out still believing what God had already said. The difference was never the size of the giants. It was the size of the report they carried, the circle they trusted, and the name they gave themselves.

So carry this with you this week. Don't let what you see speak louder than what God said. Get a Caleb, and get rid of the ten. Refuse the name the giants never gave you.

The land was already theirs. The promise was already spoken. The only thing standing between Israel and the inheritance was not the giants in the land. It was the report in their mouths, the fear in their circle, and the lie in their mirror. The same is true for you. God has already spoken over your life, and nothing, not time, not people, not circumstances, can undo what He said.

No Games. No Gimmicks. Just God.

The iron floated.

That is the whole thing in 2 Kings 6:6. A borrowed axe head sinks into the Jordan, a man panics, and Elisha throws a stick in the water. Iron does what iron does not do.

We keep waiting on God inside the rules of our situation. Gravity. Math. The way things always go. But God was never bound by the water you are drowning in.

Your limits are not His limits. What you thought was gone is not out of reach. God is not restricted to the conditions that restrict us.

No games. No gimmicks. Just God.

You have outgrown the version of you that shrinks to keep other people comfortable. That season served its purpose. It is over now. Playing small is not humility. It is fear wearing a costume. God did not stretch you through what He stretched you through so you could go back and squeeze into what you already surpassed.

The old assignment fit the old you. The old room fit the old you. The old expectations fit the old you. But you have grown. The evidence is that what used to satisfy you now feels tight.

Stop apologizing for the size God is calling you to. Stop dimming so others feel bright. Stop treating your growth like a problem to manage instead of a promise to steward.

You have outgrown it. Walk in that.

This week we sit with what it means to stop playing small.

We've been taught to treat faith like a vending machine. Insert prayer. Receive outcome. Repeat.

But faith was never meant to be reduced to a strategy for getting what you want. It's not a lever you pull to move God's hand. There's more underneath it than that, and most of us have never stopped to look.

Tonight we start fresh: "A Rediscovery of Faith." We're going back to what faith actually is before we ever made it about what it can get us.

Bring your questions. Bring your honesty. Bring the version of you that's tired of shallow answers.

Endurance is the spiritual ability to remain under pressure without abandoning your position.

Read that again. Not the ability to avoid pressure. Not the ability to escape it. The ability to stay put while it's still pressing.

Anybody can hold their position when the weight is light. But God isn't building lightweight faith. He's building people who can stand in the squeeze and not move, who can feel the full force of the thing and still refuse to abandon what He said.

Pressure isn't proof that you're losing. Sometimes it's proof that you're exactly where you're supposed to be, and the enemy is trying to push you off the very ground God gave you.

So don't quit your position. Don't abandon your post because it got heavy. The weight you're carrying today is developing something in you that comfort never could.

Stay under it. It's making you.

Hold your position. 🙏

Just a little while.

That's the promise you're standing on when the waiting feels longer than the wait can bear. He who is coming will come, and He will not tarry.

Not "maybe." Not "if things line up." Will.

Heaven doesn't run on your delay. What looks like silence isn't absence. What feels like a closed door is just a clock you can't read yet. The same God who scheduled the sunrise this morning has already set the appointment for your breakthrough.

So don't let the wait talk you out of the promise. Confident believers don't panic in the pause. They praise in it. They hold their posture because they know their God.

In just a little while... it's coming.
