Hugh's Chapel was the original name of the church group. The plot of land our church is currently on was deeded to the church in 1877 by B.F Hudson. A white wooden church was built and used until July 17th 1944, when ground was broke for a new stone church building. The dedicatory sermon was given in the Beech Grove United Methodist Church on March 10, 1946. In May of 2023, Beech Grove United Meth

odist Church declared it's independence by officially disaffiliating from the United Methodist Church denomination and becoming Beech Grove Methodist Church.
