With the record high in Arkansas yesterday for new Covid cases and the increasing death toll here in Arkansas, we have every reason to believe that the death toll will be much higher within 30 days.
Therefore, we WILL NOT be reopening the church facility in September as I had hoped. We will continue on with our Zoom Sunday Study and Worship as we have been for this past year and a half.
I am so thankful for you continuing to be an active part of our church family! We are continuing to support all of our local benevolence projects and pay bills at the same time. This is totally due to your love and generosity for our church and its mission.
If you want to share the weekly link for our Zoom Study and Worship with your family and close friends, please do.
This is a difficult time for so many folks and the emotional stresses we all are under with this pandemic brings a very real need to be part of something bigger than ourselves. We need the supportive and encouraging message of love and peace perhaps more than ever.
Please know that you are loved and so very much appreciated!

What if Arkansas politicians pass this bill determining that unborn babies are "persons"? When a woman suffers a miscarriage will the county coroner have to come and fill out a death certificate (as he currently has to do if a person dies outside of a clinical setting or hospice)? Will autopsies be required? How about burial/disposal of remains? If the determination is that the mother ate/drank/smoked, etc. in ways that were detrimental to the health of the fetus...what will be the penalty for any/all of those mothers? This will be a nightmare logistically. This will also be an additional emotional burden for the families suffering the loss. This would be a great time for our government to be 'civil' and use common sense. -- jim huffman, pastor of Christ's Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas

The 4th Week of Advent. Our annual Marimba Christmas with Chal Ragsdale and Friends. This marks 20 years Chal has been delighting all of us with a Marimba Christmas! For those of you who may not know, Chal and Del are Elders at Christ's Church. I am so blessed to be part of this wonderful church family. Blessings be yours, now at Christmas and daily throughout the New Year.

ps. This is only about 9 minutes long.

A virtual version of the annual "Marimba Christmas" sing-along we've had at our church for 20 years.

This Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent. We will be lighting the "Hope Candle." We are in a global mess right now. Let us, as the old Shepherd King David, say "Hope thou my soul in God." And also, "I will look unto the hills from whence cometh my strength."

Just a little note: we have changed our website to a very simple little format. With no services being offered or held at our church building we thought we needed to show our presence in the community without utilizing the physical presence of our building at this time. After all, our church is in the presence of our people!

Giving back through life-changing relationships.
