The last time I checked, hope cost Noah 120 years of building, Abraham decades of waiting, Joseph years in prison, the prophets a lifetime of rejection, Jesus the Cross. That's expensive!
Without hope, people stop believing change is possible.
Without hope, families stop fighting for restoration.
Without hope, churches stop reaching the lost.
Hope stands alongside Faith and Love.
I Corinthians 13:13
We are saved by hope.
Romans 8:24
Hope is an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast.
Hebrews 6:19
Hope does not ignore reality. It looks beyond reality.
Hope is not optimism. It exists at a graveside, in a prison cell, during a famine or while facing a diagnosis.
Biblical hope exists because of a bloody cross and an empty tomb ~ Jesus paid that price ~ I Peter 1:3-4
Hope is the fuel of faith and the companion of love. It is the bridge between where people are and where God desires them to be.
Titus 2:13-14 tells us that hope was purchased by the sacrifice of Christ, proven by His resurrection, and secured by His promises. What cost Jesus His life cannot rightly, be called cheap. Extreme value is the only way to begin to describe hope.
