UPDATE: Outdoor Life Chapel friends we have paused our weekly Sunday worship service at Smith Lake until later this summer when we intend to relaunch, date TBD. Be on the lookout, however, for opportunities to fellowship and get together outside of Sunday morning. We will post them to our page and email.

Come join us this Sunday at Smith Lake (Woodpecker Pavilion) @11:00 to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will explore the post-resurrection appearances from John's gospel and discover the type of New Life made available to us that first Easter morning.

We will likely decide on a restaurant to visit after service for all interested.

Oh, and there will be snowcones because... why not?!

Because it’ll be below 45 degrees tomorrow at 1100, we’ll meet in the Smith Lake Recreation center in the two small classrooms. (Shout out to the Smith Lake Recreation center for the last-minute accomodation!)

Greetings, Outdoor Life Chapel family and friends!

Tomorrow, Ft. Liberty’s Garrison Chaplain, CH Foster, will bring the Word for us!

Looks like it’s gonna be a sunny 47 degrees, so wear your warm clothing and bring your blankets as we hear God’s word being preached to all of Gods creation!

(Remember, there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!) 😉

Happy Friday, ODL fam!

Tomorrow, Saturday (27 January), Smith Lake and Ft. Liberty MWR are hosting a Polar Plunge at Smith Lake and a few of us are partaking! It costs $10 and includes a shirt. You can just show up tomorrow in case commitment isn’t your thing. 😉

Also, we’ll be having our end of month meal at Freddy’s (4825 Ramsey St.) after the service on Sunday. All are welcome to attend!

Hope y’all have had a great seven out of twelve days of Christmas! 🎄

Our next service will be held on 7 January at 1100 at Smith Lake (same time and location). Enjoy ringing in the new year and remember that the Lord is God over everything. He cares for us and loves us more deeply than we can understand.

The collect (prayer) for tomorrow from the lectionary ODL chaplains reference, “Almighty God, you have poured upon us the new light of your incarnate Word: Grant that this light, enkindled in our hearts, may shine forth in our lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.”
