Thank you to all who attended our final service and fellowship dinner. The event was filled with all kinds of emotions - seeing people we hadn't seen in while, thinking of those we missed.

Thank you to the pastors who came back to share this event with us: Pastor Dee Shelnutt, Pastor Doug Burrell, Pastor Joe Harrington, Pastor Beverly Casstevens, Pastor Fred Kolshorn and Pastor Wright.

We could not have asked for a better day or event to honor the legacy of the two churches: North Fayette UMC and Friendship UMC. We had 177 people with us today! What a blessing!

Having a baptism during the program is a reminder with every ending there are new beginnings.

I pray the people will continue to stay in touch - as Pastor Shelnutt said, "we are more than the building, we are the family of God".

It is with great sadness and deep respect that we announce Sunday, June 7, 2026 will be our last service.

We have had a combined history of over 130 years of service and ministry. Friendship UMC was founded in 1894. North Fayette UMC was founded in 1983 with the consecration of the current church building in 1986.

We have had thousands of people come through our doors. We have shared songs, laughter, tears, love and fellowship during our time together and our ministries.

To quote Ecclesiastes 3:1 - "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven" This season of our church has come to an end. We know that God has a plan for the next season of our lives.

Thank you for your years of support and God Bless You.

As we end each service with the Irish Blessing - "Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand".
