Monday 9-7-26
~The Fall of Babylon
the Great~
“After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.””
‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭18‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ).
My dear friends, God has many varying angels to do His bidding at the sound of His word. And here is one so gloriously bright he must be, as one has said, from the very presence of God. Remember that the fifth judgment bowl (16:10) will plunge the world of that coming time into darkness. And it will be against that backdrop that this illuminating angel will break into the world of the end which the Antichrist has so deceived and ravaged for his purposes. It will be at that time that God will destroy Babylon the political and economical system of the world which will be ruled by the Antichrist (17:12-18).
John MacArthur reminds us that “Religious Babylon (ch.17) lures the nations into spiritual drunkenness and fornication with false gods (17:2,4); commercial Babylon (chap.18) seduces the unbelieving world into a materialistic stupor, so that the people of the world will become drunk with passion because of their relationship with Babylon””. And as we see it will be worldwide (18:3) including kings, merchants, and people from every walk of life.
And when the time comes that God will send His destruction to the wicked city, it will be left so desolate that it will only be inhabited by demons and scavenger birds!
God has been and is wooing and warning this world of His available grace and coming judgement. The time to act is now. You’re not saved? Turn to Christ today before it is eternally too late. You’re not in church worshipping and serving Him? You are missing the greatest days of your life and the church is left helpless in the area which God has gifted you to fulfill the ministry of His church (see Hebrews 10:25/the word “forsake”).
My friends we're living in the world of the last days according to God’s word. Please respond to Him today.
Father, please help us to draw near to You today, in Jesus’s name, Amen.

Friday-9-4-26
~The Coming of Our
Lord Jesus Christ~
Before moving to chapter 18 let’s look at what Paul said to the church at Thessalonica about what we’ve been looking at in Revelation:
“Now, dear brothers and sisters, let us clarify some things about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered to meet him. Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us. Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God. Don’t you remember that I told you about all this when I was with you? And you know what is holding him back, for he can be revealed only when his time comes. For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming. This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.”
‭‭(2 Thessalonians‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭12‬ ).
I understand it as follows:
1. The Rapture of the Church (1-2,6-7).
2. The Revealing of the Antichrist (3-5,8a)
3. The Return of the Lord (8-12).
And again, there is much to be unpacked in this passage. But take time to study this short, but powerful letter, for it is God’s Word to you.
Thank You Father that You are always with us and will never leave us. Thank You for securing us in Christ by Your Holy Spirit. Thank You that You will gather us to be with You. Thank You for loving us and making us Your children now (see 1 Jn.3:1ff). Father help us to love as Christ commanded us in John 13:34,35. Help us live in light of Your word today, in Jesus’s Mighty name, Amen.

Thursday 9-3-26
~Turn Back Before
it’s Too Late~
“Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.””
‭‭( Revelation‬ ‭17‬:‭15‬-‭18‬ ).
Before moving to chapter 18 let’s recap and wrap chapter 17. The apostate pagan church which will take the stage after the Rapture of the true church will not have developed over night, the form is with us now (see 2 Tim.3) waiting on its missing link, the Antichrist. This apostate church will be made up of many religious groups working together toward this one-world religion. After the Antichrist rides her to his pinnacle of power midway of the Tribulation he turns on her with his cohort of kings and strips her of power and riches and destroys her. The Antichrist will believe he has succeeded in his devious plan, but will soon find he has fulfilled God’s plan (18) which will bring the Antichrist and his followers to Armageddon for judgment (ch.18-19).
It may seem to us today that the world is out of control. Or it may seem that Satan is in control, but according to verse 18 it is Sovereign God who is in control.
God has a plan and it will be fulfilled according to His time and His word.
Take a few and read 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 in relation to God sending strong delusion to the followers of Satan and sin that brings them to His judgment.
My dear friends, there are only two roads to follow. The broad road that leads to Hell, which Jesus said most people are on (Matthew 7:13-14), or the narrow way that leads to life, which is His way, and there are few who are on it! Which road are you on today, the road of sin and Satan which leads to Hell or the road of life which is following Christ according to His word? Not sure? Make sure today, call upon Him, He awaits your turning to Him for salvation today.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ).
“For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬).
Call on Jesus to save you today and He will give you new and eternal life. And when you do, tell someone of what God has done for you in saving you, for it is the greatest of all miracles!

Wednesday 9-2-26
~Living on the Edge~
““The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of Lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.””
‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭17‬:‭12‬-‭18‬ ‭).
•Following our thought through chapter 17 from yesterday, we see the “ten kings” (12), who have authority given to them in the Tribulation to rule with the Antichrist. And the angel reveals that his rule will end in judgment when the “Lamb” returns (19:11). And we know Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who returns as King of kings and Lord of lords (19:16). But before He returns the Antichrist will reign as king of the earth with his new one world government (Rome) and his one world church (Babylon). Remember “Babylon” is the apostate church that becomes full grown after the rapture of the church.
• in verses 15-18 we find somewhere between the last half of the Tribulation and Christ’s return that the Antichrist turns on the apostate church (Babylon) and destroys her and sets himself up as God in the temple. It is his goal to exalt himself as the object of worldwide worship (see Dan.7).
My dear friends, all that keeps this from being revealed is the true church today. Once God takes His true church out of this earth the Tribulation will begin ( chapters 6-19).
If that were to happen today, where would you be? Would you be left behind, or would you be with the Lord Jesus?
And the answer to that depends upon you and I having been born again ( Jn.3), becoming a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Cor, 5:17). We are saved by Christ, not our works or worth (see Eph. 2:8-10).
But Christ alone!

Tuesday-9-1-26
~Clues to the Counterfeit~
“One of the seven angels who had poured out the seven bowls came over and spoke to me. “Come with me,” he said, “and I will show you the judgment that is going to come on the great pr******te, who rules over many waters. The kings of the world have committed adultery with her, and the people who belong to this world have been made drunk by the wine of her immorality.””
‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭17‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ )
The identifying clues we listed given by pastor Ray Stedman speak of the coming counterfeit church, the Antichrist, and evil religious and political godless system of the world which the Antichrist will use to rule and reign the world of that day. Those clues were meant to help identify this coming great pr******te (counterfeit church), the beast (Antichrist), and the mystery Babylon ( a city yet unknown, but has been the system of idolatry that had its beginning in Genesis 11 and continues today). Let’s review a few points the angel reveals to John:
•The great harlot in verse 1. This will be the devil’s spiritually adulterous system of religion. It is the apostate, counterfeit church that becomes fully unrestrained after the Rapture of the true church.
I think it will help us to remember what the angel said he was going to show John, “the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters…kings of the earth…the inhabitants of the earth…”.
As he begins to unfold this before John he gives much detail concerning the scarlet woman and the scarlet beast. The counterfeit church will be wealthy, beautiful, very attractive and alluring. The scarlet beast is the Antichrist, which will be just as beautiful, attractive and alluring to the whole world. This scarlet beauty has nothing to offer but sinful allurements and sure judgment.
Let’s be careful to see this in the context which it is given, “the Revelation of Jesus Christ” (1:1). God gave this book to His Son to give to John to give to us that we might see His Son as He is now. He is the risen, ruling, and returning King! God is the Great Giver. Satan is the great taker, thief.
The Antichrist will parade himself as the king during the Tribulation. But the angel (17:1) reveals the judgment of the apostate church and Antichrist is coming (chapter 18-19).
Jesus is Lord and He is the Almighty! Bless His Holy and Mighty name!

~Clues 9 & 10: Seven Hills and The Great City~
““Why are you so amazed?” the angel asked. “I will tell you the mystery of this woman and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns on which she sits. The beast you saw was once alive but isn’t now. And yet he will soon come up out of the bottomless pit and go to eternal destruction. And the people who belong to this world, whose names were not written in the Book of Life before the world was made, will be amazed at the reappearance of this beast who had died. “This calls for a mind with understanding: The seven heads of the beast represent the seven hills where the woman rules. They also represent seven kings. Five kings have already fallen, the sixth now reigns, and the seventh is yet to come, but his reign will be brief. “The scarlet beast that was, but is no longer, is the eighth king. He is like the other seven, and he, too, is headed for destruction. The ten horns of the beast are ten kings who have not yet risen to power. They will be appointed to their kingdoms for one brief moment to reign with the beast. They will all agree to give him their power and authority. Together they will go to war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them because he is Lord of all Lords and King of all kings. And his called and chosen and faithful ones will be with him.” Then the angel said to me, “The waters where the pr******te is ruling represent masses of people of every nation and language. The scarlet beast and his ten horns all hate the pr******te. They will strip her naked, eat her flesh, and burn her remains with fire. For God has put a plan into their minds, a plan that will carry out his purposes. They will agree to give their authority to the scarlet beast, and so the words of God will be fulfilled. And this woman you saw in your vision represents the great city that rules over the kings of the world.””
‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬-‭18‬ ).
This is an enormous amount of information to jump into. So let me share the shortest insight I can. David Jeremiah points out “the false church is described as the “great pr******te” (1)…the harlotry of the false religious system is seen in her easy alliance with the political powers of the world. The seven heads and ten horns speak of the political system of the beast, the Antichrist. The unfaithful woman (the false church) and the beast agree to combine their powers to take over the West. ...In Revelation 17:12-14, we learn there are ten kings who will be given authority to rule the world along with the Antichrist during the Tribulation. They will bring the pr******te to ruin—they despise her, consume her, and ultimately destroy her””.
Again, the moving of the antichrist system is shaping up today. And I believe what holds it back today is the true church remaining on earth today.
Father, help us today to live holy lives, set apart for You, and separate from the world. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

This is what will be on our plates for next week, Lord willing, and it’s a table full.
Clues # 9 & 10: Seven Hills and The Great City. Remember these are identifying clues or symbols telling us, as much as can be known today, of the coming apostate church of the Tribulation period after the rapture of the true church.

Thursday 8-27-26
~A Form of Godliness~

“I could see that she was drunk—drunk with the blood of God’s holy people who were witnesses for Jesus. I stared at her in complete amazement” (Revelation‬ ‭17‬:‭6‬ ).
Let me share another note in relation to the apostate church of the Tribulation which will persecute and murder multitudes of people who turn to Christ in those days. Paul warned Timothy of the coming last days where such an apostate church would take shape:
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away” (II Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭1-5).
Any group calling itself a church yet denies the Deity of Christ is an apostate church. And there are many such groups today.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
‭‭(John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ). The only thing restraining this godless worldwide monster from becoming fully revealed is the true church on earth today. When God removes His church before the Tribulation then the Antichrist and his hellish cohorts will step out and up as a dazzling peacemaker and provider as a one world apostate church who will not tolerate those who turn to Christ. We see her godless formation growing today.
I believe John's amazement was not in the shimmering and attractive allurements of the "woman" (false church) but amazed by her murderous worldwide slaughter of God's people. And it is shocking to see what many are taking part in today around the world and calling it a church.
Look up my friends, for your redemption draws nigh!
