We've been seeing more and more articles like these. We are connected with schools, with colleges, and with churches; therefore, we are seeing the impact in multiple areas with use and abuse. While this article concerns higher education particularly, the issue in sermons, lessons, and other aspects of ministry sparks discussion of the appropriate use of AI and even what AI means in relation to the human soul and the human act of creativity.
We plan to tackle this topic in January at Crossroads Church in Lillington, NC, with a talk titled "How should Christians think about technology, AI, and transhumanism?" We won't get technical, but it will be both educational and practical. Our ministry is well-versed in the use of AI, both through its integration into software like Logos and through its use across various platforms.
AI is a tool, and, like all tools, it can be used virtuously or viciously. As we are a quarter of a century into the 21st century, join us on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, for a lecture and discussion on this issue as it relates to the church and the Christian faith.

Students use AI to write papers, professors use AI to grade them, degrees become meaningless, and tech companies make fortunes. Welcome to the death of higher education.
