RENOVATION NEWS
Exciting progress continues on our church renovation project!
Harrison Construction is working diligently toward completing the Fellowship Hall and Small Dining Room by Friday, October 30th! We are prayerfully hopeful that we will be able to return to our normal worship spaces on Sunday, November 1st! Please understand that this date is TENTATIVE, and we will provide a definite update in next week’s midweek mailing.
While we are excited about returning to our regular worship spaces, what a blessing these past several weeks have been as we have gathered together as ONE church family! Though our worship styles may differ, we are one congregation worshiping the same God, united in our love for Jesus Christ and one another. Our prayer is that even after we return to our regular worship schedules, you will occasionally visit the other service, worship alongside those you may not see each Sunday, and continue building relationships across our church family. After all, we are not two churches with two worship services—we are ONE church with ONE mission, serving ONE Lord!
Meanwhile, progress continues throughout the building! Final touches, including painting and millwork, are being completed on the second and third floors. New countertops have been installed in our daycare classrooms, and the children’s restrooms have been beautifully tiled! We are now awaiting the installation of new toilets and sinks to complete those areas.
Harrison Construction remains optimistic about the projected November 24th completion date for the overall renovation project. What a wonderful Thanksgiving blessing that would be!
As we move closer to the finish line, please continue praying for the construction crews, subcontractors, our renovation leadership team, our daycare staff and children, and our entire church family. We are grateful for the work being accomplished and look forward to seeing how these renewed spaces will be used for ministry in the years ahead.

ELEVATOR NEWS
If you have need to use the Elevator, please know that it can now be used. The same operation instructions exist as always. We are sorry for the renovation inconvenience this may have caused. Please remember though, watch your steps in the hallways as millwork continues in these areas.

CHARGE CONFERENCE MEETING
Just a reminder that the Annual Charge Conference meeting with our Presiding Elder, Rev. Jeff Armbrester, is Sunday, November 8, 2026, 5:00 p.m. I anticipate that we will meet in the Sanctuary for our gathering time. I am hopeful that we as a congregation will gather for this time with our Presiding Elder as we celebrate what God has done, is doing and how we hear His calling for tomorrow. Please join the Administrative Board as share this time with Rev. Armbrester.

Hello Members and Friends!
As always, I pray this week’s newsletter finds you well. Sunday, October 25, 2026, is pledge Sunday.

First, I pray that each of you have received the 2027 pledge card, if not, we will have pledge cards available Sunday.

Secondly, I pray that the last 5 weeks have been a fruitful time of prayer as we prepare to make an estimated commitment of our financial support to God’s ministry through our wonderful church.

The Biblical teaching model is that 10% of our first fruits (earnings) is the calling of God in our spiritual lives. Our giving is a deep spiritual connection of relationship between God and us. Our humanness leads us to believe and practice, that all we possess belongs and came about by our own doing. Tithing 10% is our intentional and purposeful act of acknowledging that everything, our whole life, belongs to God.

Over the past few weeks, I have shared that we are all at some place monetarily in our giving to God. I am hopeful that we as a congregation, will do our very best in meeting God’s calling of being a tithing church. God deserves nothing less than our best. Doing our very best calls each of us to examine our priorities, just as God called the Israelites to do in Haggai Chapter 1. Let us not put off until tomorrow what God is calling us to do today. Let’s all have a plan to do our best: If we find ourselves giving nothing at this time, take a step toward giving something; if you know your percentage of giving at this time, and it’s not 10%, take a 1% step toward tithing; if you tithe 10%, is God calling you to step beyond a tithe; and lastly, if you are a giver is God calling you to be a kingdom builder?

Friends and family, I am praying for you and I ask that you pray for Lisa and myself as we join together to make 2027 our greatest giving year at Fayette First.
