SMALL GROUPS NEWS
Hey everyone, I’m FRED! I am looking forward to “Kicking Off” a Fall season of Small Group Studies! I am hoping this Fall that you are looking to join a Small Group if you’re not already in one! Small Groups help us Connect and build Community as a church family.
In the next few days, I’ll be introducing (hopefully) a few opportunities that give you and me a chance to get connected. I want to first tell you a little about Small Groups. I am the “New” Small Group Spokesman for our church and my name is F.R.E.D. is an acronym for all things Small Groups.

FRED stands for all things: Fellowship – Relationships – Encouragement – Discipleship!

Here’s a little more about FRED and the hope of growing in Jesus:

Fellowship…we weren’t meant to walk in the Spiritual Journey alone.

Relationships…small groups help us build authentic friendships rooted in Christ.

Encouragement…life can be hard, don’t face it alone. God is with you the whole way, and so are we as fellowship Christ Followers!

Discipleship…growing in faith, walking in obedience, disciples making disciples. We are all called to walk the walk in the name of Christ!

So, in the next days ahead…look for Small Group opportunities. I’ll be around!

THE WEEK’S RENOVATION NEWST
WINDOWS… Windows around the church have been installed. The remaining work on those installed windows is the dressing on both the exterior and interior of each window. The frosted windows on the South and North side of the Sanctuary have been sent for care and will be installed once received back on the premises
2nd and 3rd Floor: these floors will be open for Wednesday and Sunday uses on September 16th . Work has progressed well and we’re excited to get the room use back into our normal schedule.
Sanctuary: the Sanctuary is open for use with a couple of issues to clear up…mostly touch up, and the chasing down of a wiring issue with speakers. Cameron Wyatt (job superintendent) is confident we will have the issue fixed soon. AT THIS TIME, THE ELEVATOR IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR USE. We apologize for this inconvenience during the renovation for those who use it!
1st Floor: the first floor is being designated as the area where our two metal fire doors close and the building runs to the south and under the Sanctuary. These floors have had LVP placed and work in the hallway to complete such work in on- going. There is still yet to be done in this area, which includes painting ,ceiling, lighting, completion of the brides room, and other touch up.
Fellowship Hall: this area is designated as the other side of the two metal fire doors, into the actual Fellowship Hall and Kitchen area. We anticipate work to begin no later than mid-September. Coordination is being given to upcoming events as well as how Worship will be conducted once renovation starts in the Fellowship Hall.
We hope the weekly updates are helping each of you stay abreast of what’s happening here at the church. Again, as we have been asking, please continue extending grace and patience during this wonderful time of updating in God’s wonderful house. We are so very blessed to be able to use our gifts and talents to care for His church.

Hello Friends! What a Fantastic Weekend of Worship we had on August 30th . Our Youth Group did an amazing job in bringing us a wonderful time of worship. Thank you to all our kids, their families, and to Priscilla Gray for their time, talents, gifts, witness and service to God and His church. The church today and tomorrow are in good hands with young people we are so very fortunate to have as a part of Fayette First Methodist Church.
The excitement didn’t stop at the Worship Services on Sunday morning! Thank you, Tana Humbers and the Contemporary Worship Team, for coordinating and leading us Sunday for Worship Nights @ Fayette First Methodist. It was such a pleasant weather evening to have worship music, fellowship, and homemade ice cream! If you missed Sunday night, look for the announcement of the next Worship Nights @ Fayette First Methodist. You’ll be glad you were there!!
Writer and speaker Carol Kent shared the following… “One day when Jason was young, we were eating breakfast together. I had on an old pair of slacks and a fuzzy old sweater. He flashed his baby blue eyes at me over his cereal bowl and said, ‘Mommy, you look so pretty today.’
I didn’t even have makeup on! So I said, ‘Honey, why would you say I looked pretty today? Normally I’m dressed up in a suit and high heels.’ And he said, ‘When you look like that, I know you’re going some place; but when you look like this, I know you’re all mine.’”
It begs the question, what are we giving our time, our talents, our skills, our abilities, and our money too? Wow…let that sink in for a moment!
I pray you are having a great week, and I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday!

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.”
-Psalm 100:1-2

We had a great night of worship, fellowship and fun last night. There’s just something special about God’s people coming together and praising Him for all He has done.

Thank you to Sam, Bri and Jacie for leading us so well, for all who came out to spend your evening with us and to all of those who brought ice cream and helped make the night a success.

We hope you left encouraged, refreshed and ready to shout for joy throughout this week!

It’s currently 6:15 a.m. here in South Africa (11:15 p.m. back home in Alabama), and we are up and ready for another morning of worship and work at General Conference!

And I will just say it—the spiritual warfare is REAL. So, from wherever you find yourself today, please continue to join us in keeping this holy conferencing time covered in prayer. Pray for protection, wisdom, discernment, unity, strength, and for the Holy Spirit to have His perfect way in everything that takes place.

I wanted to share the recap video from Day 1 so you can get just a small glimpse of what God is doing here. There is something incredibly powerful about worshiping alongside brothers and sisters from all over the world—different countries, cultures, languages, and backgrounds, but all gathered in the name of Jesus!

These are long days, and I won’t pretend they aren’t exhausting—physically, mentally, and spiritually. But even in the weariness, there is such a sense of expectancy. We have prayed for this gathering for over a year, and now we are here, believing that every prayer matters and that God is working in ways we can see and in ways we may never know.

So keep praying, Church! Cover this place, these delegates, our bishops, our leaders, and every decision that will be made. Pray against anything that would distract, discourage, or divide, and pray that Jesus would remain at the CENTER of it all.

We are tired, but we are expectant. We are pressing on. And we are believing for a GREAT HARVEST! 🙏🏼🔥🌍

Come, Holy Spirit, and have Your perfect way!

~Dana

What a beautiful Youth Sunday!

What a gift to have our youth serve the church and the Kingdom of God by leading both services today. Thank you to everyone who participated, our parents, and especially August that played piano and Sam, and Karon as they helped our students prepare for both the contemporary and traditional services (that they guide so beautifully every week).

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.” John 15:9
