Annunciation Greek Orthodox Parish House

Annunciation Greek Orthodox Parish House Divine Liturgy Sundays at 10 AM Christians of the Eastern Churches call themselves Orthodox.

This description comes to us from the fifth century and has two meanings which are closely related. The first definition is “true teaching.” The Orthodox Church believes that she has maintained and handed down the Christian faith, free from error and distortion, from the days of the Apostles. The second definition, which is actually the more preferred, is “true praise.” To bless, praise, and glori

fy God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the fundamental purpose of the Church. All her activities, even her doctrinal formulations, are directed toward this goal.

On January 6 we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Theophany of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ. This feast is celebrated each year on January 6 and it commemorates the Baptism of Christ and the divine revelation of the Holy Trinity. At the Baptism of Christ, all three Persons of the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—were made manifest. Thus, the name of the Feast is Epiphany, meaning manifestation, or Theophany, meaning manifestation of God.
