Pastor Rodney update from Marti:

They are on the way home! As exciting and relieving as that is, please refrain from visiting until after Sunday! Rodney and Marti NEED rest! Of course, Sunday will be based on whether Rodney is feeling up to visitors. Updates will be posted here!

Reminder: rest for everyone is needed. Please do not text or call as well as visit until after Sunday. Let’s give them the space they need for healing and rest!

Of course, prayers are always welcome! Keep praying!🙏

Update from Marti!

Good Morning everyone. Pastor Rodney had a ct scan this morning and an ultrasound of his heart. All of which is standard procedure. Doc showed me brain scan pics and it looks wonderful. The spot where the tumor was is already starting to fill in😉

He is a little worn out (me too) because they have to check him every hour to make sure there is no swelling, bleeding, etc. Dr said everything looks great.

PT will do an assessment and if all goes well (like he can stand) they will move him to a room today as soon as one is available.

Please spread the word to those that you know don't have Facebook like John Penny, Beulah, etc. Thank you for all your thoughts & prayers. As you can see, prayers definitely get answered, even specific ones 😉

Update on Pastor Rodney:

We’re so thankful to share that Pastor Rodney is out of surgery and came through great with no complications. The doctor reported that he had a hemangioblastoma, which appears to be non-cancerous. Pathology will confirm this.

He is currently in recovery and will soon be moved to ICU.

Please continue to keep Pastor Rodney, his family, and his medical team in your prayers as he begins the next phase of healing.

As you can imagine, this is a lot for Marti and the family to manage right now. To help them focus on Rodney’s recovery, updates will be shared here and by text as needed. Thank you all so much for your love, prayers, and understanding.

Please join us in prayer for our pastor, Rodney, as he prepares to undergo brain tumor surgery this Tuesday. 🙏❤️

He will be preaching this Sunday at 11:00 AM at Farnham Baptist Church, and we would love for our church family to come together in support. We especially encourage all New Friendship Baptist members to attend this special service. ⛪✨

Let’s fill the church with faith, encouragement, and prayer as we stand beside him during this time. 🤍🙏

We trust in God’s strength, peace, and healing in the days ahead. 🙌💙

✝️ Church family, please keep Pastor Rodney Morrison in your prayers. He is scheduled for surgery next Tuesday, April 28th at 7:30 a.m. at Henrico Doctors Hospital to have a brain tumor removed. 🙏

As the family walks through this difficult time, we respectfully ask that you please do not call or text, so they may have the quiet and space they need to focus on Pastor Rodney and one another. ❤️
