"The Man Without a Country" is a fictional short story about an Army lieutenant who was charged with treason against the United States, and thus he was banned from the country forever. The Gospel of John tells us about a man who committed treason against a king - not just any king, but the King of Kings. Of course, I'm referring to Judas Iscariot. One of the most intriguing passages in all the New Testament is when Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. Why did He do this, and what was He trying to teach them? It starts this Sunday at 6:00 p.m.! All children from three years old through sixth grade are invited! You do not have to preregister to attend, but preregistration will make things easier for both you and us if your children plan to attend. Whether you preregister or not, you will be welcomed!

This is a picture of my grandfather. He enjoyed many modern conveniences of life, but he never cared for tractors. Till the day he died, he did his farming with mules. Mules are hard-working creatures, but anyone who has worked with them knows that their reputation for stubbornness is well-deserved. Alas, people can be stubborn, too, particularly when it comes to facing their own sinfulness and mortality. Jesus said, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me" (John 12:32). This is one of most misunderstood passages in Scripture. Jesus was not talking about His exaltation by others, but about His death. How could He be exalted through His death?
