Don't forget that this Sunday, February 13, is the Souper Bowl of Caring. Our church will be receiving food and financial donations for the Farmington Food Pantry. You can also make donations for the Little Food Pantry that the Girl Scouts made that we are hosting. Please make sure to designate which pantry you wish the food to go to.

Thank you to all those who have donated to the community fund to help those in need after the fire. We have received $400.00 so far. Farmington is a wonderful and generous community. Please continue to give. You just need to run by Bank of Farmington and tell them that you are depositing money for the Council of Churches Community Fund. The more we receive, the more we can help. Once again, thank you and Merry Christmas

Good Morning All,

The Farmington Council of Churches would like to announce that we have set up an account at the Bank of Farmington to help those affected by the recent fires. You may make a deposit at the bank during regular banking hours. Tell them that you would like to contribute to the Council of Churches fire assistance fund.

We are currently in the process of working with the business owners affected by the fires to identify their employees. We plan on helping those in need with rental assistance, utility assistance, food assistance, and/or gas assistance (as donations allow). The more money we have, the more we can help. The plan is for this to help only those affected by the fires right now. In 6 months, if there is any money left, we will reevaluate how to best use that money. It will take us about a week to figure out how much money we will have to help someone. Therefore, we ask that anyone who needs help to please call one of the following churches listed below, starting on Monday, December 20:

First Presbyterian Church: Pastor Andy (217) 994-8588 (cell)
First Baptist Church, Farmington, IL: Pastor Jon Dainty, 309-256-4697
First United Methodist Church, Farmington, IL: Pastor Debby Rhodes 309-245-4310
St. Matthew’s Catholic Church: Deacon Gary Schultz, 309-647-1473

Farmington is a close community. We support each other in times of need and there is a great need right now. Please give generously as you are able. As Tiny Tim said, "God bless us, every one." Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
