Monday Meditation:
words from UUA Glitter Blessing

“May you receive and reflect love, everywhere you go, and know—in your deepest heart and in every day—you matter and you belong.
May you hold on to hope and your inner sparkle even when discouragement and despair beckon.

May the beauty that is you shine out, bright as the stars from which we came and to which we will return.

Together may we make this a place of welcome and healing, of connection and plurality.

Together may we practice compassion and courage, seeing and celebrating and supporting each other.

Together may we be the sparkling force of love that our world needs.”

The closing words that our youth recite when they extinguish the chalice at the end of class end with, "We are building a better world together... we don't have to it alone." Come reflect on the past year that RE has had, celebrate the accomplishments our students have made together, and see the beauty of community and togetherness across generations.

This Sunday is a Youth Takeover! It's our annual Youth-Led Service. See what your youth have learned this year and what they want to share with you. Led by our RE Coordinator Argot Kramer and the UUCF Youth, everything from greeting, to chalice lighting, to songs, and readings will all be performed by our youth. Come support these growing minds and hearts!

June 14th, join our youth for our Annual Youth Led Service! The youth will be discussing one of the concepts included in their yearly curriculum - you don’t have to do this alone. Our UUCF adults have also added this phrase as part of our closing words in service this year. As Unitarian Universalists, we believe in the interdependent web of life, of which we ALL are part, being there for each other in this life, and creating justice in action. We don’t have to do this alone ♥️

We are ready to kick off summer at UUCF with our June services! This week, June 7 - we will be on location for the Motor City Pride Parade and a multi-congregational Pride service at First Unitarian-Universalist Church of Detroit. On June 14, it's time for a youth takeover of Sunday, with the Youth Led Service. Come support our youth and see all that they've learned this year. On June 21, we say thank you and farewell to our minister Rev Karen Madrone, as she concludes her time of shared ministry with us. Bring a card of well wishes, or make one that day, to celebrate her and send her off with love and joy. And to close out the month, we celebrate the Summer Solstice with our annual Summerfest Sunday! In lieu of service, join us on June 28 @ 10:30am for a day of sun and community. Yoga, trail walks, and games will be available for all.
