المؤتمر العاشر لأبرشية سيدة النجاة في اميركا، هو وكما اختبرنا في المؤتمرات السابقة لأبرشيتنا، فرصة ثمينة. هو لقاء الإخوة والأخوات في البيت الام. بيت مري
م العذراء أي أبرشية سيدة النجاة. نلتقي فيه للفرح وللخدمة. إن أمنا مريم علمتنا درس الفرح في يوم بشارتها حينما قالت: "تعظّم نفسي الرب وتبتهج روحي بالله مخلصي" (لوقا 1: 46-47) ويوم ولدت يسوع، صار الفرح: "إني أبشركم بفرح عظيم يعمّ الشعب كله" (لوقا 2: 10). وعلمتنا أن الطريق إلى الفرح هو الخدمة "فقالت مريم للخدم: إفعلوا ما يأمركم به" (يوحنا 2: 5). ونحن كمسيحيين واولاد مريم، فخرنا أن نقتدي بالرب يسوع وأن نَخدُم وليس أن نُخدَم (متى 20: 28).
وما مؤتمر أبرشيتنا هذا العاشر إلا لقاء في عرسٍ، مثل عرس قانا الجليل. إننا هنا لخدمة مجد الرب يسوع في كنيسته، كنيسة الفرح، وبنور إنجيل الفرح، نجيء إلى المؤتمر لنصلّي معاً ونفرح ونتامل معاً. ومع البابا فرنسيس، ونلتقي في رسالته "فرح الإنجيل" التي شئنا أن تكون موضوع هذا المؤتمر لخدمة الكنيسة بالفرح. لأن علامة المسيحي الفارقة هي الفرح، الفرح من الإيمان.إذاً، دعونا نتشجع ونأتي إلى لقاء الفرح، لنخدم ونشترك مع الجميع بفرح. لأننا شعب القيامة، شعب الفرح، الشعب الذي يرنّم للرب "هللويا" في أبرشية الفرح. متذكرين قول معلمنا الكبير القديس بولس"إفرحوا في الرب كل حين، وأقول لكم أيضاً: إفرحوا" (فيلبي 4:4) Under of the Patronage of Our Patriarch his beatitude Mor Ignatius Yousif the III Younan,
His Excellency Mor Barnaba Yousif Habash our bishop welcome you to the 10th Annual Syriac Catholic Convention at St. This 10th Diocesan Convention of our Syriac Catholic Diocese will certainly be a very precious opportunity like the diocesan conventions we had in the past. It will be the meeting of all the sisters and brothers in the Mother’s home, which is the Home of our Blessed Mother, the Diocese of our Lady of Deliverance. We the members of the Diocese our Lady of Deliverance are the living Diocese. At the convention, we come to encounter one another with joy and with the desire to serve the Lord together and in so doing we proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the New World of America. Saint Mary our beloved Mother through us will teach joy to the world. Like Blessed Mary we could say to the world, “My soul glorifies the Lord and my Spirit rejoices in God my Savior” (Luke 1: 46-47) and like the Angels who on the day of the birth of Jesus also with joy they announced too: “I bring you Good News of great joy will be for all the people” (Luke 2: 10). We too like the Angels are called today to be messengers of the Good News to our suffering world. Today the Church is aware that many people have lost faith and they have no more wine, that is, the needed Grace to proclaim the Good News of Salvation and here again Saint Mary intercedes for us, for we have run out of “wine,” and she tells us Jesus’ servants, to be servants of the way of joy, namely, to listen to Jesus and so she tells all servants, “Do whatever he tells you” (John 2: 5). As Christians and Children of Mary, we are proud to do what she tells the servants, who did what he commanded and so we as servants of Jesus are called to imitate our Lord Jesus and to serve and not to be served (Mt 20: 28). Yes, our convention is in away like the Wedding of Cana. We are also called today to serve the Glory of the Lord Jesus in His Church as a Church of Joy, which lives in the light of the Gospel of Jesus which brings Joy. We come to the convention to pray together to rejoice together and to meditate together on this Apostolic Letter of His Holiness the Pope Francis “The Joy of the Gospel” which is the logo for this convention to invite each one of us to serve with the Church with joy because joy is the sign and the identity of the Christians. Let us have the courage and to come to this encounter of joy to serve and to participate in joy with all. We are the people of the: Resurrection, Joy, the people who sing “Alleluia” in the Diocese of the joy. As we recall what our great teacher St. Paul told us: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again, Rejoice.” (Phil 4:4).
