► Day 2A — The Holy Ghost Gave Direction Without Explanation

📖 Acts 16:6–10

“Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia…”

Good morning!

Have you ever found yourself asking God why?

Why did this door close?

Why did this opportunity disappear?

Why did this path suddenly change?

Most of us naturally look for explanations.

Yet Acts 16 presents something unusual.

The Holy Ghost said no.

Paul stopped.

The Holy Ghost redirected.

Paul followed.

The Scripture does not tell us that Paul received a detailed explanation.

It simply tells us that he obeyed.

► Relational Faith

Many people think of faith as believing something God has said.

Acts 16 reveals something deeper.

Faith is also trusting Someone we have come to know.

The Holy Ghost did not hand Paul a complete plan.

He gave direction.

Paul responded because he trusted the One giving the direction.

This is relational faith.

Not confidence in the details.

Confidence in the source.

► The Holy Ghost Set The Agenda

When we read this passage, it is easy to focus on the locations.

Asia.

Bithynia.

Macedonia.

But the story is not really about geography.

The Holy Ghost was arranging divine appointments.

Paul could see roads.

The Holy Ghost could see people.

Paul could see territory.

The Holy Ghost could see hearts.

Paul knew where he wanted to go.

The Holy Ghost knew who was waiting.

► God Is In The People Business

Later, Paul would meet Lydia.

Later, a jailer and his household would believe.

Later, lives would be forever changed by the Gospel.

But before any of that happened, the Holy Ghost was already working.

The Holy Ghost knew what Paul did not know.

The cry from Macedonia was not anonymous.

Those people mattered to God.

They were seen by Him.

Known by Him.

Loved by Him.

The Holy Ghost was not merely directing a missionary.

He was connecting people to the Savior.

► What About Us?

Sometimes we see closed doors.

Sometimes we experience unexpected redirection.

Sometimes we wish God would explain more than He does.

Yet Acts 16 reminds us that the Holy Ghost sees what we cannot.

He sees people we have not met.

He sees needs we do not recognize.

He sees opportunities we cannot imagine.

He sees the whole picture while we see only the next step.

Our responsibility is not to know everything He knows.

Our responsibility is to trust the One who does.

And as we follow His direction, we often discover that His plan is greater than we imagined.

What first appeared to be a delay was actually preparation.

What first appeared to be a closed door was actually redirection.

What first appeared to be an interruption was actually purpose.

The Holy Ghost is still leading His people today.

He is still arranging divine appointments.

He is still preparing hearts.

And He is still revealing His power through those who are willing to trust Him one step at a time.

► Prayer

Holy Ghost, help me trust Your direction even when I do not fully understand it.

Teach me to walk with relational faith.

Help me remember that You see what I cannot see and know what I do not know.

Lead me where You desire, and make me willing to follow.

Amen.

► Today’s Reflection

Am I seeking an explanation from God?

Or am I learning to trust the One who already knows?

06/12/2026

Good morning!

Do you have a pressing schedule today?

For me, Fridays have always carried a sense that rest is near. Even though there is still work ahead, there is a change of focus on the horizon.

How are you feeling today? Is there rest in your near future?

Even then, we still need God’s direction, help, and strength. Most importantly, we need to hear a fresh word from Him.

God’s love for you is fresh today. Listen for His lovingkindness.

📖 Psalm 143:8

“Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.”

It is a simple prayer:

“Lord, help me hear You today.

Help me recognize Your voice above every competing voice.

And help me walk in the direction You are leading.”

I pray the Lord gives you strength for the day, wisdom for the decisions ahead, and a clear awareness of His presence as you walk through the day.

Good morning!

Yesterday we discovered a simple truth:

The Holy Ghost knows what we do not.

Today, let us consider another question:

What can the Holy Ghost see that we cannot?

———————————————————-

Day 1B — What Can The Holy Ghost See That We Cannot?

📖 Acts 16:6–9

“Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia…”

Acts 16 allows us to witness something remarkable.

The Holy Ghost forbids a direction that appears reasonable.

No explanation is given.

No reason is recorded.

The Holy Ghost simply intervenes.

At that moment, those traveling could only see what was in front of them.

But the Holy Ghost could see far beyond what was visible to human eyes.

A few verses later, Scripture gives us a glimpse behind the curtain.

Paul receives a vision of a man from Macedonia saying:

“Come over into Macedonia, and help us.”

What a beautiful revelation of the character of God.

Before anyone traveling with Paul knew there was a need, the Holy Ghost knew.

Before anyone heard the cry, the Holy Ghost heard.

Before anyone understood where God was leading, the Holy Ghost was already working.

The focus of this passage is not the servant.

The focus is the Holy Ghost.

Acts 16 reveals a God who is aware of people we have never met, needs we have never seen, and circumstances we have never considered.

While men see what is near, the Holy Ghost sees what is far.

While men see what is visible, the Holy Ghost sees what is hidden.

While men see the moment, the Holy Ghost sees the whole picture.

Perhaps that is one reason we can trust Him.

Not because we understand what He is doing.

But because He sees what we cannot see.

The cry from Macedonia had already come to the attention of Heaven.

The Holy Ghost was already aware.

The Holy Ghost was already working.

The Holy Ghost was already responding.

And through a yielded servant, God began to answer a need that others could not yet see.

That same Holy Ghost is still at work today.

He sees what you cannot see.

He knows what you do not know.

He is aware of needs, people, and circumstances beyond your present understanding.

And He remains worthy of your trust.

Reflection

What situation are you viewing only through what is presently visible?

How might your perspective change if you remembered that the Holy Ghost sees far beyond what you can presently see?

Prayer

Holy Ghost, thank You for seeing what I cannot see.

Thank You for being aware of needs, people, and circumstances beyond my understanding.

When I cannot see the whole picture, help me trust Your wisdom, Your leadership, and Your care.

Teach me to follow You with confidence, knowing that You are already at work in ways I cannot yet comprehend.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
