This Sunday at Saint Luke’s Church — “To Be a Blessing”

Ever felt God nudging you out of what’s familiar?
Abram did. Matthew did. And honestly… so have we.

This week we’re stepping into two wild stories:
➡️ Abram leaving everything that once defined him
➡️ Jesus walking straight into the most hated place in town and calling Matthew

And yes… we’re talking about identity, blessing, and what happens when God says, “Let’s went.”

We’ll even laugh a little about leaving Minnesota for down dah bayou (mais yeah, sha…)!

God still forms a family.
God still prepares a people.
And God still sends us to tables we never expected to sit at.

My dad owned a small business in tiny Shields, MI—a place most people have never heard of. Yet he called his home office “World Headquarters.”

As a kid, that stuck with me. He believed his work mattered, no matter how small it seemed to others.

That shaped how I understand calling. Jesus says we are the light of the world wherever He places us—not just on big stages or in prominent places.

So wherever I work, lead, or serve, I see it as World Headquarters—not because of me, but because of the One who sent me.

When God commissions you, there is no such thing as an insignificant place.
