As one term ends and a bright new chapter begins, the Eastern North Dakota Synod staff is celebrating with Bishop Tessa Moon Leiseth as she officially steps into her second term! Elected by our synod assembly on June 7, Bishop Tessa continues to lead our ministry with dedicated hearts and shared faith.

Join us in prayer for Bishop Tessa, her family, and our entire synod community:

strengthen and sustain Tessa,
that with patience and understanding she may love and care for your people.
Give her the courage and the compassion to do the things you have called her to do.
Surround her with your love and uphold those who love and care for her.

Pray for hope, relief from suffering and skilled, compassionate care for people who struggle with loneliness, depression and mental illness. On August 29, 2026, rostered and lay leaders from across the church, diverse guests of several denominations, and ELCA Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry gathered at St. John Lutheran in Dickinson, ND, to celebrate the installation of Western North Dakota Synod Bishop Lisa Lewton.

We join our siblings in Christ in offering our deep gratitude, prayers, and joy as Bishop Lewton steps into this new chapter of leadership. May God bless her ministry and the entire synod as we walk together in faith, hope, and service!
