Last week we finished learning about the God of Promises. We studied Genesis-Joshua.
Our key verse has been “Never stop reading this Book of the Law. Day and night you must think about what it says. Make sure you do everything written in it. Then things will go well with you. And you will have great success.” Joshua 1:8 (NIrV)

This week we begin learning that God blesses the faithful. As we look at Judges through 2nd Chronicles we'll see that God humbles those who are disobedient but blesses those who faithfully obey God. God wants us to faithfully serve Him and love others.

Our key verse will be “Where you go I’ll go. Where you stay I’ll stay. Your people will be my people. Your God will be my God.” Ruth 1:16b (NIrV)

Love joy peace patient kindness faithfulness and gentleness and self-control. Those are the good fruit of the Spirit.

Today we talked about three kinds of fruit. Rotten fruit, good fruit, and fruit snacks-

Fruit snacks may look good but they don't give us the nutrition that our bodies need like a real piece of fruit. They're kind of like when an unbeliever does something good, it's still good but it doesn't bring glory to God. It isn't the Fruit of the Spirit.

Rotten fruit does not smell good or taste good. No one wants to be given a piece of rotten fruit. Rotten fruit is the attitudes we have that are the opposite of the Fruit of the Spirit. They are since like anger and patience and I'm kindness and Hate. These are the things that we must turn away from.

The fresh fruit that is ready to eat and tastes great and provides the vitamins our body needs. It is good for us and helps us stay strong and healthy. This is like the fruit of the spirit which helps us grow in our love and obedience to God so we can bring Him glory
