He was born on March 22, 1765, in Lurgan, Franklin County, PA. He died January 4, 1825 (aged 59) in Lurgan.
He was a US Congressman. Twice elected to represent Pennsylvania's 5th District in the US House of Representatives, he served from 1815 to 1819. Maclay was born in Lurgan Township, Pennsylvania. So, we are still learning about managing a page. It looks like posts from visitors show up off to the right side of the page instead of on the page's timeline. I will repost these to the timeline until I figure it all out! Thanks for your patience.

Welcome to the page for the Lower Path Valley Cemetery!

The cemetery is operated and maintained by the Lower Path Valley Cemetery Association, a non-profit association. There are plots available for purchase. If you want more information on purchasing a plot or making a donation, please call, email, or message us to let us know. Our contact information is under the ‘About’ tab on the left side of this page.

The original, older part of the cemetery (the right side) is on land donated by Alexander Walker and family in the early 1760’s. The first internment in the cemetery was on Christmas Day 1769. The newer part of the cemetery (the left side) is on land donated by the Wineman family.

There is lots of history here in this cemetery. There are veterans of many wars buried here. There are generations of ‘Valley’ families buried here. We would love to hear from anyone who has loved ones buried in the cemetery or anyone who has any historical information about the cemetery or the people interned here.

This page is a work in progress and we are excited to see where it goes.
