This week, Fr. David joined clergy from across the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America for the 94th Annual Congress in South Florida, where he participated in a panel discussion on missionary work, evangelization, and how Orthodox parishes can faithfully welcome and form the growing number of people seeking the Church.

Fr. David shared St. Mary’s experience of receiving a significant number of inquirers, emphasizing the importance of preparing a parish for growth, maintaining a thoughtful online presence, and allowing people time to encounter the Church before beginning a serious and extended catechetical journey.

Reflecting on how many people now first discover Orthodoxy online, Fr. David noted that for many seekers, the “first door” into the Church is no longer the physical entrance of a parish, but its digital presence.

The panel also highlighted hospitality, prayer, strong catechesis, and a welcoming parish community as essential parts of Orthodox missionary life in North America.
