Join us as we kick-off our Parish Speaker Series for 2026-27 with Peter and Ellen Loesel on Monday, September 28th, at 7:00pm in Monsignor Heller Hall. They will be speaking on "Keeping Kids Catholic in College: Lessons from Veteran Campus Missionaries." If you have children in college or planning for college in the future, you will want to attend this information talk.

Peter and Ellen Loesel are missionaries with FOCUS, a Catholic missionary group who sends missionaries to college campuses to reach students from all walks of life. In order to accomplish their mission, they focus on divine intimacy with God so that their work bears fruit as well as authentic friendship with the students on campus to help guide and lead them in their faith. They host Bible studies to intellectually form them and Discipleship meetings to help them grow in virtue and spiritually through prayer and the sacraments.

Our Hospitality Committee will serve light appetizers and drinks for the event.

DATE CHANGE: Please note that the Seniors Young at Heart are having Bingo Night with pizza and ice cream on Thursday, October 22nd, 5-7pm in Monsignor Heller Hall. The date change is due to a scheduling conflict. There will be NO SEPTEMBER meeting.

GUESTS: Bring salads that complement pizza for 6 or cookies/pie to go with the ice cream.

Bring $5 for bingo cards. A $5 donation is appreciated as well.

DATE EXTENDED ONE WEEK: Women’s Weekly Wednesday Study, 9:30am-11:30am in the IHM Conference Room--will now begin on September 16th.

The group will be studying the teachings of the Church by reading Foundations of Faith: A Journey Through the Catechism of the Catholic Church, from Ascension Press. They will view the accompanying videos at the end of each lesson. Participants will need to purchase the workbook and bring a Catechism as well. Just a reminder that for the Labor Day weekend, the rectory office will be closed Saturday, September 5th, and Monday, September 7th. There will be no noon Mass on Monday.

Remember this weekend is our First Friday All-Night Adoration which will begin on Labor Day weekend this Friday, September 4th, at 7:30pm ends Saturday, September 5th, morning before the 8:30am Mass.

Many adorers are needed. Please consider spending an hour with Him!!

The exposition of Jesus in the monstrance leaves Christ vulnerable and must be properly always attended. Since He is exposed out of love for us, it is our duty to make sure He is protected. For that reason, at least one person must be in the church while He is exposed.

Please put Saturday, September 26th, on your calendar. In addition to our parish picnic, we are also hosting the 21st annual Nun Fun Run (NFR)! It will be held in B Lot from 7:30am-9:00am—a few hours before the start of our parish picnic. All proceeds raised will be donated to Camilla Hall—the Convent Home and Healthcare Center for our retired IHM Sisters.

The first race was held almost 21 years ago on September 17th, 2005, in honor of the year-long Centennial Celebration of our parish school. Since 2005, it has become an annual Saint James tradition to gather on a Saturday morning in September to "Run for (and with) our Nuns." If you would like to participate this year as a runner, a donor, or simply a cheering bystander, then please keep an eye out for next week's bulletin. It will include the registration and donation links, including where to buy a NFR t-shirt.

The Nun Fun Run is always a FUN event for all ages so please come and join us this year as we raise money for our beloved IHM Sisters! Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!
