Just a reminder that you can still sign up for the The Evangelical Catholic’s 10:10 Challenge that guides you through an intentional season of growth. You and a partner or small group devote ten weeks to practicing and discussing ten ways of life that Jesus himself lived plus an introductory week and a wrap up week. You will grow closer to Christ through prayer, Scripture, and simple habits of discipleship.

No training or special experience is needed. The 10:10 Challenge books are designed to be a one stop shop for either individuals meeting with their friends at home or for parish-led small groups. If you can't attend all meetings, please still consider joining us. You can read at your own pace.

As the U.S. commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) join this celebration by lifting up the contributions of Catholics and the impact of our faith on the history of this country.

In a historic moment, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the U.S. to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday, 6/11, the eve of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart. The Bishops ask Catholics throughout the country to join in the novena leading up to this consecration which begins 6/3. We will send out a daily email for those signed up. Christ in the Little City…on Corpus Christi Sunday this month! We invite parishioners to join us to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi this Sunday, June 7th, at the Noon Mass followed by a Eucharistic Procession. Some streets will be closed due to the Procession. Ice cream treats will be provided on the lawn after the Procession.

Please note: Lots A and B will be available for the noon Mass. However, cars parked in Lots A and B will not be able to exit until after the Procession.

Please consider parking in the Parish House parking lot or the top deck inside the Founder’s Row parking garage where Saint James has reserved parking spots on Sundays until 1:00pm.

College Nights Return in June-The Associates of St. John Bosco (ASJB) will resume their college nights for rising college freshman and transfer students to fortify their Catholic faith before stepping foot on a college campus.

College Nights is free and include student testimonials, small groups divided by your college (or similar to yours), pizza dinner, and a free Bosco Bundle to take with you to college! Wear your college t-shirt and visit https://www.asjb.org/student-registration to register.

Here are the 2026 College Night dates and locations. All events are from 7:00pm-9:00pm: June 30 @ Holy Spirit, Annandale; July 9 @ St. Theresa, Ashburn; July 14 @ Holy Trinity, Gainesville; July 21 @ Basilica of St. Mary, Alexandria; and July 28@ St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Fredericksburg.
