Ordinary people can be heroes. You don't have to be a superhero to live bravely.

Examples of everyday bravery: Defending the truth; Loving sacrificially; Forgiving others; Standing up for justice. The Bible defines courage as strength derived from trusting in God's presence, rather than self-reliance. Ask God for the courage to be brave today, knowing that He is always by your side.

Be strong and brave; have no fear or dread of them, for it is the LORD, your God, who marches with you; he will never fail you or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6 (NABRE)

Kindness rarely makes the headlines, but it quietly changes the world every single day.

Be a part of changing the world. Be kind to everyone you encounter today especially your loved ones. Go out of your way. Have faith that every person you are kind to will have a better day and in some way will pay your kindness forward and it will reverberate infinitely.

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12 (NABRE)

Human beings are made for a purpose, and faith helps us discover it.

Instead of asking what do I want from life, ask God what I am called to do. Have faith that He will show you the way. And when He does, don't allow your personal fears to hold you back.

As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10 (NABRE)

Everything you do is observed by others.

Each day your actions, good or bad, are observed by others - your family, friends, co-workers, strangers and most importantly God. With that in mind, be mindful of what you say and do today.

And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 (NABRE)

Easter Monday - The Resurrection does not erase the wounds; it transforms them. Love grows when it is marked with sacrifice, and death no longer has the final word.

Practice forgiveness in a small specific way today. Release a grudge, pray for an enemy, or pardon where you've been harmed.

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be with you."; When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. [Jesus] said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.; And when he had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." John 20: 19-27 (NABRE)

Good Friday - What looks like defeat becomes the deepest act of love. Nothing is explained away; everything is carried.

Christ carried it all for us. As we reflect on the suffering He endured for us, take ten minutes and quietly reflect on His sacrifice for YOU! God loves you that much. Take time to be with Him and thank Him.

He himself bore our sins in his body upon the cross, so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24 (NABRE)

Holy Thursday - Love chooses to kneel. Power is revealed not in command, but in service.

Christ knelt to wash the feet of the Apostles. Choose a simple task today and act for others. Do it quietly, without drawing attention or looking for credit. The most important person (Jesus) will notice.

Fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power and that he had come from God and was returning to God, he rose from supper and took off his outer garments. He took a towel and tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and dry them with the towel around his waist. John 13: 3-5 (NABRE)

Don't let someone ruin your peace just because they can't find theirs.

When someone speaks harshly or projects negativity towards you, recognize that their behavior is likely rooted in their own unresolved struggles-- certainly not in your worth or actions. Instead of absorbing their negative energy, pause and ask God how you might be able to help them. Let them feel and see the peace God provides you.

Let the peace of Christ, to which you were indeed called in one body, rule in your hearts; and be thankful. Colossians 3:15 (NABRE)

If your pursuit of doctrine and theology is making you more intelligent without making you more loving then your pursuit is not of Christ.

As you are going about your day, ask yourself if those you encounter could recognize you as a follower of Christ. Would they see His love being extended to everyone?

Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus, Philippians 2:5 (NABRE)

Every sin is an attempt to be happy apart from God.

Living apart from God will inevitably result in sin. Involve God in all your decisions today, big or small. Choose to be happy with God instead of apart from Him.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6 (NABRE)

God has a purpose in shaping us to be like Jesus. We become His influencers - His hands and heart - for everyone around us.

Take a moment right now and ask God what purpose do you have for my life? How can I serve you? Spend a few minutes in quiet prayer, seeking His answer.

LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay. You are the potter. Your hands made all of us. Isaiah 64:8 (NABRE)

Be on guard against the pit of self-pity.

We are most vulnerable to self-pity when we are feeling weary or weak. It is also while we are in this state that we are likely to lose sight of God's comforting presence. Avoid the pit! Cling to God and He will keep you from even going near the edge.

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7 (NABRE)
