The Episcopal Church in the United States originated in colonial times with early settlers who brought their faith with them from England. They established worship in the New World after the pattern of the Church of England, a Protestant church with ancient Catholic liturgical traditions. When the American republic began, the Episcopal Church severed its ties with the mother church in England. But

it retained the liturgical traditions and beliefs of the English church and kept the same service book, the Book of Common Prayer.

*** St. Luke's Church Service Canceled โ€“ Sunday, June 28 ***

Due to vandalism on our church property, we must cancel worship services on Sunday, June 28.

We are saddened by this situation, but the safety of our congregation and the need to address the damage must come first.

We trust that even in challenging times, God remains with us, strengthening our faith and our community.

We are grateful for your prayers, love, and understanding as we care for our church and prepare to gather again safely.

St. Luke's Church and other Episcopalians turned out to support the gay community at the Fall River Pride Festival on Sunday June 7, 2026. Church of the Holy Spirit, Church of Our Saviour, and Christ Church were all there as well as other religious groups. Visitors to St. Luke's table thanked us for our presence and affirmation of the gay community. We passed out photos of our seven gay bishops in the Episcopal Church.
