With deep sorrow the Parish of Espirito Santo announces the passing of Mr. Octavio Canhoto. Octavio was a long time member of Espirito Santo Parish and until his passing was an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He also participated in many other parish organizations.

Octavio F. Canhoto, 90, of Fall River, husband of Rosa Maria Couto Rodrigues Canhoto, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Santa Cruz das Flores, Azores, he was a son of the late Alfredo J. Canhoto and the late Elisa B. Freitas. Prior to

And from your celestial home

Come, Father of the poor!

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Lidia Soares, a long time and active member of Espirito Santo Parish. She was a member of our Holy Rosary Society, Mordomia and helped in the making of the Malassadas for our parish and for the Grande Festas do Espirito Santo. Our Sympathy and Prayers are extended to her family.

Lidia Soares, 91, of Fall River, widow of Guilherme O. Soares, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at St. Annes Hospital. Born in Santa Barbara, Santo Antonio, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel B. Silva and the late Maria Rosa Raposa Silva, she emigrated to Fall
