Happy New Year! As we begin a new year, let us fill our hearts with joy, knowing what Christ has done for us. We pray:

Father in heaven, as I reflect on the past year, I see many things that trouble me. Political conflicts and wars are tearing the world apart. Natural disasters seem to be increasing. False prophets continue to twist and pervert your truth. But that is not all. I too have sinned against you and against the people in my life. Yet none of this has erased your kindness or canceled your forgiving love. In the coming year, let your peace rule in my heart. Teach me to forgive others as you have forgiven me. Grant me com-passion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Amen.

Merry Christmas! As we celebrate the joy of our Savior’s birth, let us pray:

Lord Jesus, I marvel at the quiet and unassuming way you came to earth. You were born of a virgin, humbly and without fanfare. While angels announced your birth to a few lonely shepherds at night, the rest of the world remained unaware of your arrival. That is how you also work today. You enter hearts through the simple means of water, bread, wine, and words. Open my eyes to see the miracle of your incarnation, and then open my lips to sing your praise. “Glory to God in the highest!” Amen.

We ponder this Christmas Eve how great the love of God is as he sent his Son to be our sacrifice. Let us pray:

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for making this holy night so beautiful. The sparkling light, the joyful carols, and the beaming faces of family and friends cheer my heart every year. With the angels I glorify you; with the shepherds I kneel and adore you. With Mary I treasure up the wonders of your birth, and all year long I will ponder such unfathomable love that made you, both the Son of God and a human child, my Savior. Amen.

As Advent begins, we turn our hearts toward the coming of Christ. In a season that can fill quickly with noise and distraction, let this prayer set the tone for joyful expectation.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, prepare my heart this Advent. Help me slow down and remember why I wait and what I hope for. You are the promised Savior, the Light in the darkness, the Prince of Peace. Let your presence fill this season with purpose. Amen.

A Memorial Day prayer

Lord of grace and glory, Americans remember their fallen on the holiday we call Memorial Day. Help us to remember the cause of war, the horrors of war, and, at some times, the need for war. Help us explain to a new generation the reality of evil, the need for sacrifice, but above all, the need for you. Without you, any victory is fleeting, and any healing is short-lived. Without you, America is at the mercy of its enemies—and its enemies do not possess mercy. Therefore, shower us with your mercy from on high that we may never forget those who died for our freedom, and the One who died to make us free forever. Amen.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we thank God for blessing our country with men and women willing to serve and protect.

Happy Easter! He is risen! On this glorious morning, we pray to our Savior King:

Living Lord and risen Savior, accept my alleluias and increase my joy that comes from knowing that you have risen from the dead. Comfort me with the assurance that my sins are forgiven and eternal life in heaven is sure. Let the joy of the Easter message lead me to go and tell the good news of your resurrection to the people who don’t know the true meaning of Easter. Let the light of my faith in you shine brightly as I face each day in the future and the day of my death on earth. I ask this in your name, who rose for me. Amen.
